Based on what we already know about future content, how can there be inconsistent formulas that result in specific plants? This is a genuine question, among many that have come to mind in recent m...
Snapdragon should have a replacement that doesn't involve an element. That doesn't mean it should be completely forgotten! I just think it would be good to have at least a basic option so that there's consistency for dragon variants like those that exist throughout the franchise!
📌📂 A second option would be to seek inspiration from something similar to the Dark Matter Dragon Fruit from PvZ Heroes, as it perfectly matches the dragon theme, both in appearance and references.
📌📂 Snapdragon attacks zombies by spitting flames in a 3x2 area, normally, most variants have that area of effect. But I think he needs something more in his skill set, maybe flying? Dragons do that, so that sounds good to me.
📌📂 Alternatively, you could fuse a tier 1 Cattail and a Chomper until they formed something that reasonably resembled a grass dragon, but gained the bonus ability to bite zombies when it felt threatened.
🌿🧈🍿🌽 Corn and butter 🌽 🍿🧈🌿
Kernel-pult is one of the most iconic and recognizable plants in the franchise because of a peculiar mechanic... butter! Although there's already a possible base plant, Buttercup, however, it does not possess characteristics similar to corn.
That doesn't seem like a great reason to look for a substitute, right? It isn't. But think about how naturally tough it already is and the fact that it leaves butter on the floor, which, in my opinion, makes more sense as a good combination for a fusion with Walnut.
📌📂 An example: imagine something inspired by the Cornfetti Popper from PvZ 2, but with a more regular appearance, with common corn kernels and lots of butter! Its abilities could involve shooting butter, but it would have a slow reload and be a manual-type plant.
📌📂 This would give Kernel-pult and Cob Cannon more accessible ways to create variants without needing to reach such high tiers, as well as increasing the use of certain plants that could now drop butter whenever you wanted.
