Are the devs obsessed with the Smash?

I've noticed lately that a lot of the event cards released have been rather oriented towards the Smash: Energy Drink and Overstuffed can get really out of control and keep the opponent busy while you save up for late game cards, gargologist is basically directly designed for Smash garg decks, and the new defensive line adds to the roster of hearty gargs that Smash's classing can capitalize on. I understand that these cards can all be used in other ways (Rustbolt can get a defensive line with bullseye, neptuna can cheapen zombot stomp with gargologist, etc.) but they definitely seem to favor the Smash. I can't help but be curious as to why the devs seem to be releasing so many Smash-friendly cards.
