The Plants are completely outclassed. No other way to say it. As terrible as Rose was, she at least gave the Plants a fighting chance. Now? Everyone switches to Zombies because the Plants are so atrocious. And some of the zombies are underpowered as well. Leep in mind this is all opinion but informed opinion after over 100 Hours into the game.
Kernal Corn - He is horrendous. He's suppose to be the Plant equivalent of the Foot Soldier but he just sucks. His body is such a large target and if you're fighting an Imp who is jumping? Forget it. Damage is far too low and his reload is sluggish for an assault class. Needs a serious buff. Health should be reduced to 125 again and damage increased. His Butter Air strike special needs to be stronger too.
Citron - Citron isn't too bad actually. Electro Citron needs his uncharged shots to be buffed in terms of damage. He shouldn't need to rely on only his charged shots to cause damage.
Rose - The last nerf wasn't so much a nerf as it was a neutering. You made her seriously unplayable. The homing is negligable now and the health and damage decrease combined was overkill.
Peashooter - Feels underpowered just a little. Agent Pea doesn't need the 25 less health like he did in the first game. Electro Pea needs to be better. The mid-air explosion thing hurts more than it helps. Rock Peashooter needs a damage increase to compensate for the less ammo. He shouldn't do equal damage to the regular peashooter, he should do more.
Sunflower - Sunflower doesn't seem too bad in her intended role.
Chomper - Absolutely and conpletely unplayable. In GW1 you could ambush lonesome players but everyone travels in packs in this game. The Goop nerf was not needed as a melee class is supposed to excel in that area.
Cactus - Utter garbage. Completely useless other than the Zen Cactus. The damage it does compared to the health the zombies have make it unreliable to do the slow fire rate and average damage.
Imp - Kind of strong really. The Imp should be like in the Beta. 50 health but fast fire rate and high damage. The Impkata damage resistence is a little much though. Impkata should equal regular gun damage and not be only half of what it normally does.
Super Brainz - The Punches for almost all the characters needs to be buffed slightly. Electro Brainz beam is too powerful though. There also needs to be a rapid punching variant like Cozmic Brainz was in the beta. Super Ultra Ball needs to be much stronger as well.
Captain Deadbeard - Damage increase seriously required. As a sniper class, you should do on average more damage than every other class. Captain Deadbeard's weak sniping damage is unacceptable. Captain Sharkbite is the only one who is decent because of this. The general time to kill in this game is higher than the first game which doesn't help. The mid-air explosion feels worthless in this game. Captain Cannon is barely usable.
Foot Soldier - Honestly not really any complaints here.
Engineer - Honestly pretty much okay. Plumber didn't need to be nerfed from the first game though.
Scientist - A little overpowered, but could be remedied if the Plants were stronger.
All-Star - Too little diversity. Hockey Star, Golf Star, and Baseball Star are nearly identicle.
General Improvements -
"Armored" Characters need to be streamlined.
They all need a consistent effect. +50 health and increased damage for slow speed. This only applies to the Armor Chomper and Metal Petal and not to the Rock Peashooter. The Iron Citron as well has no speed decrease for whatever reason Btw why does the Cactus class have two armored characters (Jade Cactus and Petrified Cactus)?
Full-Auto ice users like the Arctic Trooper and Goalie Star need to freeze faster. More times than not by the time you freeze them they are already almost dead and you get little benefit.
Upgrades should be more unique. Cozmic Brainz should have an upgrade to reduce charging time for his fists. electric characters should have an upgrade to increase the damage when electrical arcing your attacks. Toxic characters should have one to increase the damage of the Toxic Aura as well as the radius. The Health upgrade being only +10 is a little underwhelming.
The mid-air explosion gimmick that is used by the Petrified Cactus, Electro Pea and Captain Cannon. Don't use the fire button to trigger the explosion as that destroys the fire rate. These characters can't fight at range because they can only fire one shot and have to wait for that shot to hit something in order to fire again. If you try fast firing all you get is a bunch of explosions in your face. Use another button to trigger the explosion.
Parrot pal is way stronger than the Garlic Drone. Either buff the Garlic Drone or nerf the Parrot so they are closer in strength.
That's it. Keep in mind everything I said is just my opinion but I know many others share these opinions. The general consensus is the Plants need to be stronger though. Please rework the Plants to be more viable and competitive as a whole.
