Well, that is not great if the game was actually planned to be cancelled all this time ago. There is something that could make up for all of this: another shooter. I solely believe that the community deserves better then this. However, EA believed that they had made the right decision. What I would have liked to see, is it then community actually had a chance to make a difference. Another shooter, which I would hope takes some of the better aspects of BFN, but also keeps it fairly GW style, I would say, would keep the community happy. We have heard news of the PvZ Franchise indeed continuing, but are we going to see another shooter? I would soon at least like to hear that EA plans on making another shooter. How would they, from another studio? Different devs? After a wait? I do not mind, but I would, along with the community no doubt, like to see another PvZ Shooter in the future!
We need another shooter. Obviously we can't expect it soon but BfN is the first time since 2014 that I can recall that there was no shooter being worked on (as far as we can tell), and the current game is not being fully supported anymore. While I felt they cut off GW1 and GW2 a bit too quickly, BfN is the first one that was just 'yeah, it's done' like this. It's not a great place to be, that's for sure.
Honestly, even when I've been unhappy with some of the decisions the team has made since GW1, I've always made sure to not attack the devs or anyone else, as it only makes things worse and we do NOT want a community like OW has. I know the Reddit can be a bit nasty, but it's nothing compared to some other games like this out there! So PopCa/EA, note that some of us spent a lot of money on GW1 and 2 (and some like me did spend on BfN too, just not as much and not as freely), and are willing to do so again if you give us a great, fun game and support it fully.
- 5 years ago@Iron_Guard8 Yeah the Reddit stuff was big. I remember many people (on this forum) were annoyed that Popcap "weren't listening" so to speak. Reddit didn't help at all, but the biggest pain for the devs was probably Twitter. Replies section got really toxic with BFN twitter posts IIRC.
