Yes, I am in the same situation. The only solution is to play the game using a different EA account; I consider this better than continuing with a compromised account, and I believe this issue won't recur following the recent updates.
Ah I see, yeah that works for me too, however, whenever I finish a game, return to the backyard I just get the black screen again and when I try to do the same thing, by moving forward, it doesn't work, maybe I'm spawned in a different location or something. I guess if I want to play the game then I must queue up and not return back to the backyard which kinda sucks if I want to change game mode I have to restart the game and do that "fix" again...

Ahh I see, to play on a different EA account would I have to buy the game again? Yeah unfortunately it sucks honestly, all my characters have been maxed out too.
