I wish I would of had a chance to use this before it was nerfed to oblivion. Can I at least get an extra second to aim? Please? Pretty frustrating to max a character with a borderline unusable upgrade.
Better yet, who was the less than 0.5% who had this and complained about it to get it nerfed so quickly. And why were they listened too over greater matters at hand. Because I would like to give that person some request to get some things handled quickly.

I had the character maxed and used the upgrade... It glitched out half the time and you could only manage 3-5 of the 8 allowed shots (those shots had to start their firing cadence a millisecond after landing/aiming)... furthermore, this took more aiming skill that would deserve the award given (landing, aiming, keeping sight of enemy, etc), all while SITTING DEAD STILL (exposing yourself worse than anyone in game...you lose peripheral when aiming down sight). It was a high-risk high-reward upgrade and one of the few in the game that made maxing out characters something to look forward to.
I’m gutted this completely rendered Cactus FAR inferior to Pirate.
3x the nerf given to NC.... goodbye beloved Cactus. 😢

Yeah when i first saw the upgrade in action i thought to myself that this is a great upgrade for a mastered cactus but after the big nerf it now feels just a slap to the face to the people who actually took the time to max her out.

I tried her last night in PvP and she’s now the most useless character in the game to me. This HIGHLY rewarded upgrade came at the cost of possibly the greatest demand for shooting skill in the game...

Guys tell me what this is? Alacrity upgrade, i have not maxed cactus yet, but what did they eff up that i will not be getting?!?
I'm curious as well. I got it after the nerf so no idea how good it used to be.
If you scope an enemy just after flight with a full clip, you could shoot 8 consecutive fully charged shots.
This was the buggiest upgrade of all and only worked half the time. My Cactus still struggles to bring up her scope half the time but now I only have 2-3 fully charged shots. By the time I find an enemy in my scope, I’ve completely missed the window to fire more than one fully charged shot.
Here’s the real knee slapper - I CAN CHARGE AND FIRE THREE SHOTS BEFORE I CAN FLY AND USE THE UPGRADED THREE FULLY CHARGED SHOTS!!! Why would I want to expose myself (by flying), if there’s no reward for the risk???!
Talk about rendering a character useless... this upgrade didn’t need ANY nerfing... damage, perhaps... total shots... heck no.
Agreed it was nerfed heavily. I need my Soldier one of these days to get better.. soldier damage has been ignored since GW1 days lol. Time to help out the OG!
@Iron_Guard8 @YayHorseys to add to splash’s comment about consecutive shots. You had much more time to fire the shots off. The most I can get now is two shots and that’s without aiming. And 33% of the time the second shot is only half charged.
I remember seeing one post post on Reddit where a very few people complained about it being op. And they didn’t have the upgrade yet, they just went up against a skilled player using it. As we all here have said multiple times, a skilled player can be good with anybody. Hell I’ve seen a couple sunflowers that made me put some work in to get the job done. And I sent them a message telling them how surprised I was.
I didn't Master cactus yet but I think without Alacrity, cactus is still a decent sniper, but still not as good as Deadbeard.
I manage to get 20+ vanquish streaks with cactus quite often. I think my max was 29 or 30.
Alacrity seems like an okay upgrade (not fantastic). If I have good positioning and enemies are in sight, I wouldn't want to waste time with propeller. Alacrity seems useful only when first getting into position. If I'm in position and I use propeller, I could have gotten another 1-3 kills if I hadn't use propeller.
Popcorn and Calibrated seem like better upgrades, which I haven't gotten yet.
Overall though, Cactus needs a buff not a nerf. Deadbeard shots seem to hit faster, he has great escape options with barrel (potato mine is too conspicuous with the bright red light), and the parrot can shoot missiles without continually aiming and the missiles hits harder.
