Camo cactus could use a little rework

So, the Camo Cactus could need a small rework. Why? Well, along with the Future Cactus, she's supposed to be the heavy hitter of the cactus class. While the Future cactus demands smart use of the charged shot to be effective, the Camo Cactus needs an accurate and somewhat specialized player to track their target. His main perk is the high damage, since you can two-hit enemies IF you have the damage upgrade. Now, that is the weakness. You need an upgrade to do what you're supposed to do in the first place. You deal 60 points of damage without upgrades, which isn't bad by any means, but his slow rate of fire of only 63 to 64 rounds per minute is a sever handicap. To put it mathematically, you can fire every 0.94 seconds. So the Camo Cactus with the upgrade has a TTK of 0.94 (Shot 1 is fired at 0 and shot 2 is fired at 0.94), but without the damage upgrade, you need 1.88 seconds to kill, provided you hit all your shots. This turns a lot of new players of, since you have a much slower TTK without the upgrade. In GW1, this wasn't to much of a problem, since you could theoretically only play as Zombies and unlock the upgrade in a sticker pack. In GW2, however, you need to grind Elite level 5 to get it, which, let me tell you, was only possible because I could 1-hit the Imp pre-patch and 2.hit Scientist. For everybody else, you needed to have a wounded character or somebody with absurdly low reaction-time to get a kill.

So, to make this character less depended of her damage upgrade, I strongly suggest a buff to the base damage to 70. 80 was clearly to much, since the damage up allowed you to kill most Zombies in one headshot (88 damage) and one bodyshot (44 damage). 70however would allow you to: 2-hit without damage upgrade, 1-hit Imps with the damage upgrade (which I think is fine, since it is already hard enough to hit them once with the Camo Cactus), 3-hit All-Stars and Siperbrainz (because nothing is more annoying than hitting Elektro Brainz three times and having him escape and kill you afterward and to kill Scientist with 1 headshot and bodyshot. And if PopCap wants to nerf the Camo Cactus to prevent her from getting OP, they could just increase the time between shots to 1.25 seconds

But that's just my opinion, if you have some different suggestions, please, feel free to tell me.

  • I know the pain of not having that damage upgrade.  I'm about to master the base cactus, but before I got to elite level 5, it was a pain getting vanquishes trying to crit something five times. That extra three damage makes all the difference.

The only question is are we ok with the Camo being able to three shot an all-star instead of having to use more than half her clip size.  Definitely something to consider when zombies have two 200HP variants and MECHs on their side.  This is why I believe the Zen Cactus should have been left alone.

Camo sucks, mostly because of map design

  • The main problem with his current damage,is that with damage upgrade he hit just the right number that reward good aim without being too strong. it can two shot 125 health class with both headshot. But can't do the same to a scientist with a body shot mixed in. And minimum 4 shot to kill a tank class make them a decent counter to him if needed.

There really not much you can do unless you remove the damage upgrade and buff is basic damage to compensate, which would put it a the weird shot of...Well not having a damage upgrade.

Also his zoom is super slow right now so that even less reason to play him.

  • I always had a problem with Camo Cactus because her zoom was simply TOO MUCH! You aimed incredibly slowly, not to mention the large delay in between shots and high recoil.

  • She's just as clunky as she was in the last game - slow reload, slowish RoF, slow zoom, etc. I heard she was OP at one point, but that was patched out before I started playing - if she was at all.

I've seen her get used a few times, and she seemed a little more manageable when I gave her a shot for a game or two. But there are better variants to use for most situations.

If she is going to get buffed - start by decreasing the zoom speed and the time it takes to reload.
