I just purchased my son Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare on PS4 from the Playstation store today and after downloading the game, it will not connect to EA servers. Is this a real thing? Can you not just buy a game and play it these days? What is the problem?
@Lion_Winz Hi, I've seen some similar reports recently and I'm trying to gather some info. Can you try downloading the FIFA 17 demo and play a match, then see if this has any effect on GW.

hi, I tried to download FIFA 17 demo to solve the same problem with PVZ garden warfare, but there is no option to download the fifa 17 demo in PS4 playstation store.
But I do have the same thing if you guys can solve. Once inserted the disc, open the application, on the main menu it will show "you have lost your connection to the EA servers, you will be unable to access any online features until you reconnect." meanwhile, on the top left it shows "Gameplay recording paused because you entered blocked scene." then it will show again "Gameplay recording resumed because you exited blocked scene".
I fixed this issue not more than 1hour ago. What I did was a google search for FIFA 17 demo. It will take you to the demo download page and eventually you will see a link to download for PS4. As long as you have a origin account set up and the email address associated with it is the same as the one for your play-station account it will automatically download on your PS4. Therefore it will link the accounts and you will be up and running. My kids are playing Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare1 now.
Community Admin@PinkSlippers76 it sounds like the sub account isn't connecting to an EA account.You mention that your child can play other games, are any of them EA games? Can you try playing an EA game or demowith the account, then try GW again?

Exact same issue here, I got it for my 10 year old for Christmas, and 5 days later, we can still not access it.
I get as far as the menu screen on the game, if I try multiplayer I get the error "You have been disconnected from the EA server, blah blah blah fish paste"
I spend a whole day going through these useless forums trying everything everyone else tried. Some suggests that you cannot connect because the host is disconnected since its a peer to peer game,and you are connecting to another player/players. Others suggest it has to do with openig certain ports on you router. Its been an absolute nightmare, not to mention my poor little boy who had been so eager to play this game on his new PS4 is now stuck looking at some stupid message that pops up.
It happens on every menu I click on, whether I try going into split-screen, options, every single menu returns this, so to me it has nothing to do with an unavaiable host, but rather a poor setup on the EA server.
This does not happen to any of the other games the kids play online, ONLY with Garden Warfare PvZ, what an utter waste of money.
I will most certainly think twice before buyig an EA game again.

Open the Origin client and click the Friends button, then Add a Friend. If you do not have the Origin client installed, you can download Origin for both PC and Mac. In the Import Friends menu, you can choose to "connect" your Xbox LIVE, PSN, and EA accounts. Simply sign in with your account details to connect
