Did the reddit community kill BfN?

Hello!

I just want to ask if the game breaking Chomper bug and the reddit community spreading the word on it and abusing it were the final straw for EA.

Considering Iceburg Lettuce only recently had a ton of upgrades added to it, the news of no new content seems like something that wasn't planned, but a rather quick decision.

Is everyone at Popcap alright? Will the team be able to continue working on future PvZ projects. I love PvZ and the devs, please don't burry the franchise!

Yours truly,

the saddened Acorn with the worst birthday in his life

@stukapooka It is really heartbreaking to see this. They ruined the Sis for me as well. In the PS2 days EA meant quality to me and now this ☹️. I wish George Fan had never sold PvZ to EA.
  • @benn1nat0r Partly. The subreddit and discord is pretty toxic. Unlike this forum, they just rant about the game instead of providing feedback maturely. All though, the game still didn't listen to much feedback and was rushed.
  • @benn1nat0r They focus on the unofficial subreddit and Discord server more. Despite this being a controlled, small, and friendly part of the community, they could care less and are willing to look at the clowns everywhere else.
  • @benn1nat0rThe development of the game as well as it releasing unfinished, and probably something to do with not meeting EA's standards is most likely the reason their ending BFN.
The game is still pretty disfunctional and things like the Chomper ROF glitch should never have existed in the first place. Didn't seem very popular either, so sales might not have been as good as EA wanted. It's too bad. I was actually pretty excited for Berry Brigade.

@Pheesley But this is all EA's fault for not providing funding and marketing the game. After all, EA also acts as their publisher.
  • @benn1nat0r I just looked at the subreddit. Some are sad, most insult Popcap and the devs. They are certainly not innocent. They have caused Chomper to be removed, celebrated themselves and now are not feeling responsible for what they did. Someone should tell them they played a significant role in Bfn’s downfall. Thank you, PvZ “fans” on reddit, for ruining the one game I cared about.
