Does someone actually knows how stupidly broken Action Hero is? He is just OP.

It's really fun to deal with a Sniper, that is small, have 150 HP, his first and second charges deletes people at Close range, Can't Miss Ile (btw this ability is just absurd), Rocket Ride and and the get out of jail free card Dynamite Dodge + Leg Day.

His upgrades are insane: Bow master, Critical Tag, Leg Day, Super Payload, and more that I don't even remember.

In good hands, I think 80s is the best character in the game. Already saw 2 people getting more than 80 kills only with this character in Turf, and saw like 5 or 6 black rank plates that actually main the character right now.

Because the character is dificult to play, people say he is balanced and other things that don't make sense, since the character is insanely OP in the hands of good players.

It's a very strong character, imo the best one in the game. I had extensive information on this character in other posts too. The way I see it, you only have a chance to beat 80s 1on1 if his bow hasn't charged yet when he sees you. That is the only flaw for the 80s character, it's a high-pace character but not as fast as a Soldier for example. Other than that, it is hard to beat a skilled 80s.

The 80s has been my go-to zombie pick since the release and it's just such a fun character if you learn and practice his mechanics and tricks. But yea, the damage output is a bit too much. As for abilities, I almost never use rocket-ride or cantmissiles, but they provide insane damage..

I have used 80s Action Hero a lot lately, I noticed that he seems to be really quite powerful. If you have good aim, he can really do some work for you. I've vanquished many plants because of the Can't Missile ability. His other abilities are really powerful as well. And his upgrades.

  • @Provin915 @TheSprinter85 i really think the character is just unbeatable if the player knows how to use his Bow charges and abilities properly. If you fight him in long range, you lose, in close range, you lose, in mid range, you lose.

He is extremely unfun to play against because of this and It is, in fact, overpowered. He is hard to play but the reward for playing him well is just way too much.

  • Yeah, he's super unbalanced. I've never found him hard to use, either. They need to take his extra health and give it to someone deserving, like Kernel Corn. He's great at close, medium, AND long range, which is just ridiculous. Even the most unbalanced characters usually have 1-2 hard counters. This guy really doesn't. His only "Weakness" is that he becomes an incredibly shootable target when using Rocket Ride.

Never found him unbalanced in team vanquish...rocket ride is annoying but I think he's in a good spot.  I don't main him or any character but have maxed him so played with him quite a bit.  I don't play turf so I can't speak to that.

@GutmanScaNo character is unbeatable. It depends of course on the skill of a player. Sure in the hands of a highly skilled player, the 80s is incredibly strong.

Assuming a 80s hasn't charged his first shot yet, the chance to win 1v1 is actually pretty high for many plant characters. A chomper can use Goop and chomp in 3-4 hits. A snapdragon in my opinion is still insanely strong ''counter''. I say this because at medium and long range, obviously a snapdragon will have a HARDER time. It's not imposssible, but more difficult. Close-range a snapdragon will win easily UNLESS the 80s already has a full-charge shot ready. Cactus: Hmm depends on the player. Long-range you should win, however the 80s just has health advantage over a cactus. Citron: high health, DPS is not so great imo. I'm not a fan of BfN's citron, but if you're skilled with the character you can win especially IF you can stun the 80s first. Honestly, Acorn, Sunflower and Rose can win close-range but you have to keep moving because you can get one-shot pretty easily. I reckon against top players it won't work. Perhaps as Rose from a medium range. Use your invincibility on the right time. Now, Peashooter is actually a pretty good choice for medium and sometimes close range. Medium-range, nearly every peashooter plays with ''homing-pea''. This will wreck any zombie, because the lock-on works best in medium range. Long-range it won't lock. If you're too close-by it won't lock on either, so that depends on your skill and aim.

The problem is when a 80s is already walking with a full-charge shot, because then (if he has good aim), he can one-shot any 75 hp character and double-tap (quick shot two-second charge) any 125 hp character.

The way I counter 80s is on my Nightcap. And yes people will think how is that possible? Isn't the 80s a counter to Nightcap? Yes it is, however I play a lot of Nightcap and 80s and consider them my main characters since the release of BfN. It still isn't easy (especially since parkour nerf), but 9/10 times I am able to win against 80s. The key is to keep moving. A full-charge 80s is scary, but if he misses he is vulnerable. Spam shooting on 80s is terrible (only do this if enemy player has 1-5 hp left). A skilled 80s will tank the damage and charge his shot. A full-charge shot and two-second charge shot afterwards will eliminate any 125-150 hp character.

I discussed the 80s in this topic too. Apologies for long-post! If you have more questions, I will try to answer as best as I can.

  • I read a fair number of complaints like this and I think the issue with most "OP" characters is primarily caused by certain players just putting in a lot of time and effort into perfecting their tactics and learning how to best apply the characters primary weapon and special abilities. Use one character for a couple of hundred hours and you'll likely be pretty hard to beat with that character.

In the right hands.I think any character appear to be "OP" or "unbalanced" but in my opinion you can't judge the overall character based on the expertise of the top 2% of players who have specialized in that character. Having said that I do understand that players who spend hundreds of hours specializing in assault characters with an already aggressive set of abilities can be particularly frustrating and that's not even taking into consideration that certain 1v1 matchups aren't going to see both players equally able to pull off a victory because of other factors.

In my own opinion you need to factor in the skill level of the player and the circumstances of the skirmish. An inexperienced person who gets vanquished left and right because they can't get the hang of a character doesn't mean that the character in question needs massive buffing or is ridiculously under-powered. The opposite is true as well in that a character in the hands of an experienced specializing player isn't necessarily overpowered and in need of massive nerfing.

  • English is not my native language but I'm going to try to explain why 80's is a really strong character:

-he has 150 hp, I don't know why since almost everyone plays his as a sniper

-he deals a lot of damange close, mid and long range

-his bow can deal +17 damange with no charge, +32 with the second charge and +63 with a full charge body shot (can kill nightcaps and acorns with a crit full charge shot or leave them with almost no health and kill them with 2 rapid shots)

-dynamite dodge is can save him in a lot of situations given his sniper position and deals damange

-rocket ride deals a lot of damange at close range and can destroy groups of plants in literally 4 seconds AND have just a 18 seconds cooldown

Why does he still so broken?
