GW2 Chomper Digestion Speed

Based on what I have seen in streams of GW2, the Chomper's still digest at the same speed they did in GW1 which is far too slow.  Especially, considering all the ways zombies can avoid being chomped in GW2.  The Chester Chomper who will not be available in GW1 did what the other non-spray chompers should be doing and that is digesting quickly.  The difference in speed from Chester and a default Chomper is miles apart, so much that it makes the difference between eating two zombies or getting vanquished after eating one.

Will the DEVs please consider granting Chester's digestion speed to non-spray chompers please?

Thanks

  • Odds are there will be a digestion speed upgrade, like there was in GW1 so hopefully that balances it out a bit.

The point of the Chomper isn't to run head first into a horde of approaching zombies and gobble them up left and right, you need to play more carefully and pick off the guys who go off on their own.  The whole idea is that you can get an instant kill and prevent your enemy from being revived, but at the cost of momentary vulnerability.  Diminish that vulnerability and the Chomper becomes too powerful.  Suddenly everyone's the Chomper and the game becomes a lot less enjoyable.

  • Not even.  Otherwise, the Chester Chomper would have never existed or had its unique ability.  Chomper do have an instant KO ability, but unlike imp puts and chili boms he has to get close.

Chester Chomper certainly wasn't broken or overpowered and this would only effect non spray chompers anyways.  Speaking of which, you say the point of a chomper ISN'T to rush into a hoard (which i agree with) however, the fire chomper can do this and be successful.  Even if a non spray chomper rushed into a group with faster digestion speed, it would not be successful in beating them all like a fire or power chomper.  You would still have to play smart and pick your meals carefully.

Don't forget the new options all zombies have to avoid being swallowed in the first place.  Its not as though Chompers (to my knowledge) have any new abilities aside from another type of goop.

I'm talking Chester digestion speed here.   Not the standard upgrade speed which is still substantially slower than Chester.  Chester's digestion speed is an ability.  Its not an upgrade or buff.  My suggestion is to take his ability and apply it to non-spray chompers.

Something needs to be done to the Chomper to make it a viable choice again. He's this game's Boss Mode... basically a useless player.

He does have a faster burrow speed which can help him with sneaking up on prey, from what I've seen from other streamers, they had no problems vanquishing with the melee chompers, showing that they're still viable.
