Let’s Boycott

All fellow players, we must face the truth. The devs on this game have constantly failed us and completely ignore what we say so I suggest we don’t support this stupid game until they start fixing all the major problems that have been listed. Examples include the dead ba mode and the “event” we got last month. I mean, how the hell does anyone screw up a login reward on a game?!. Don’t buy their currency until they finally answer us and give us feedback. Tell me your experiences in the comments and how they can further fix this monstrosity.

That was my final word. And apparently nothing of significance has changed. And i mean they tried something new and i gave it fair try, but many mistakes were made. The best thing i can think of is that Popcap has really improved their communication with the community. But the overall design still missed the mark. And not even a Steam release seems to save it. Where it also sits at mediocre ratings.

I just hope this dies quickly so we can have an actual Garden Warfare 3, that hopefully learned from previous mistakes. So no more out of bounds or shooting through walls. And proper Ops with the full routine.

@realitysquared and I have a similar experience but seeing as I used to play MMOs, the daily login in this game isn't anywhere near as time consuming as raiding and dailies in those so it bothers me less, but I can 100% see why many GW veterans are playing BfN less or not at all. I do like BfN and love the idea of brand new characters like Space Cadet, Acorn, and so on, but GW2 is still my favorite PvZ shooter right now.

I do get a lot of bots in matches but I also find that I can get full TT lobbies or small amounts of bots but indeed, getting PvP vanquish quests that don't count bots can be frustrating. TT is still my favorite mode but the changes to the point capture mechanisms from GW1 and 2 feel 'off', after how well they worked in the previous games and one of the reasons I preferred GW2 over all other team shooters.

We talk a lot about BfN's potential and it does certainly have it, but it feels like the potential is far above what we have now. Yes, I still play and enjoy BfN, but it just doesn't feel as good to play as GW2, even with some of the improvements (like saving builds and a much better customization UI).

@shurikeninja I still play Paladins and it still has a lot of weird problems, which reminds me of BfN in so many ways. Both games are enjoyable but are hamstrung but a series of self-injuries.

So, they either have to pull a No Man's Sky and turn it around, making BfN the amazing game it certainly could be, or give us GW3 instead.

@realitysquaredThe game has been downright broken simce launch but all popcap has done is add more microtransactions and bugs, they had to pull a map because they released it buggy and broken just so they could keep the already small player count around, the launch was an absolute cluster truck barely any marketing and the games practically been on sale since day (they literally know the actual price is bull and guess what the xbox store reviews are gone what the actual *bleep*!), and the only ones who actually bought this mess were people who played the first two and with this type of buisness model for bfn and pvz 3 I would rather just have the series fail then keep going as this butchered frankenstiens monster.

  • @Iron_Guard8 I do have some experience with MMOs, when I left GW2 I spent more than two years grinding daily in a MMO where if you didn’t relentlessly grind daily your character would be left behind in terms of strength and power so I understand the daily login and group raid dynamic.

My main issue is probably the fact that I left that MMO because the grind became another obligation and the fun was replaced by a feeling of the game being another job and when I swapped over to BfN I was not counting on PvZ pushing the same deal at me.

I’m actually currently playing another game which has tons of grind but which also allows you to play at your own pace and set your own goals while offering numerous events and rewards which can quickly and seamlessly become a part of whatever you’re doing in the game.

If BfN had come out a couple of years ago I probably wouldn’t have these issues with its expectations, but right now it’s not the game I’m looking for and if this is the course that the franchise stays on neither will any future games which come out.
