Major Payments Bug - Not Receiving Humongous Coin Pack I Purchased (Again)

I had this issue happen before:

After a long process it was resolved by contacting EA Help and opening a case there (EA Case #45872860) and talking with them over the phone as well as with PSN Support. Many screenshots were uploaded. EA eventually got a specialist to add the missing coins via packs in the vending machine. The entire process took about 5 hrs.

However, the same issue happened again on Jan 27th, 2019. This time, I opened a new case on EA Help (EA Case#47211717) and after talking and troubleshooting with them, and uploading 3 screenshots, they referred me to PSN Support. After talking with PSN Support and troubleshooting with them, they confirmed that this is not a PSN issue, but an issue with the PvZ:GW2 game/game servers. I was given a PSN case number (PSN Case#32525752) and was told to go back to my case at EA Help. After explaining everything again to the new EA Help operator on the same case, they were again able to contact a specialist to correct the problem via coin packs in the vending machine. The entire process took about 4 hrs.

Since this issue has happened twice now, with a lengthy and frustrating process getting it resolved, I asked what could be done so that it wouldn't happen again the next time I go to buy a Humongous Coin pack. I was told by the EA operator to make a post on these forums again to let people know that this is an issue and also to alert the game developers/community manager so that they could provide a fix.

  • I am having the same problem. 3rd time in two weeks actually. I purchase from PSN and get the receipts and everything but, no coins ever show up in game. EA has told me all sorts of things even to wait over 24 hrs because of server sync... I am sorry but, it should not 24+ hrs for something I have bought to show up in the game. I have never had that issue before. They always have shown up immediately sometimes I have to refresh the game but, that is it. Now refreshing the game makes no difference. I am tired of buying stuff and having to go through EA support to get what I purchased. I was told last time that all of my permissions had been refreshed and that would fix it. Well.... IT DIDN'T!! There is something wrong with PVZ GW2 and it is frustrating to the point of just not wanting to play anymore.

  • I really appreciate you guys looking into the issue. I hope it gets fixed soon. I play the game with my kids all the time. We have spent many hours hunting gnomes, playing the events and stuff. We all adore the little characters and thouroughly enjoy customizing them. My youngest son shares this account with me and I bought the coins so he could get a skin for Torchwood and the second piece for disco Chomper. Very frustrating to see him so disappointed when he couldn't get it even though I paid money for the coins so he could have it. I do understand that sometimes things go wrong within these games. Bugs happen for no good reason at all. Like I said I do appreciate you guys working to fix it. Everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago. Don't know if that helps. I am looking forward to a resolution to the matter though. Thank you again.

    As an update to my situation. I logged in and had been compensated for lost coins with one problem. I purchased the pack that gives 2,500,000 coins and it was supposed to give 1,000,000 bonus coins because of special on coin packs in game. Well I don't mean to complain but, I only received 2,500,000 coins but, should have received 3,500,000. I contacted EA help and was told that they couldn't give me the 1,000,000 even though I have paid for them. 2,500,000 was all they could do. I don't think that is right. I paid $64.99 for that package to get the bonus 1,000,000. Like I said I don't want any trouble I just wish I could be compensated for what we thought we were getting when we made the purchase. The person I spoke with earlier gave me a discount code for purchasing another game or add-on but, I don't want to buy another game or add-on for this one. I just wanted what I paid for for this game. Have to say not totally satisfied with this whole ordeal. I will not be buying any more coin packs, add-ons for PVZ GW2 any time soon for fear of the same problems.

    This just happened to me on Sunday when I was trying to buy the Epic Coin pack so I could grab my last piece of Disco Chomper from Rux.  After going through a ridiculous amount of proof of purchase screenshots and pictures of my tv with the transaction history I got sent to the specialist queue.  I just got an email from EA this morning stating to wait 24 hours and then contact them again if I don't have the coins.  I have bought coin packs in the past and never had this problem.  I don't recall seeing a little asterisk anywhere saying it may take up to 24 hours to receive your coins.  It stinks since I bought the $19.99 pack specifically for the last Disco Chomper piece from Rux.  I'm pretty sure Rux is closed by now.

  • Here's my update.  After 2 days and multiple times of saying the same things with support over and over again, I finally got some of my coins.  They gave me the regular Epic pack of 630000 coins not the additional 220000 bonus coins due.  At this point with all of the time I put into it I don't feel like wasting any more time to get the bonus coins.  Over the past year or so I have put a decent amount of money into this game with packs and upgrades to help support the developers and get a GW3.  However, after dealing with the support process (not the people, everyone I worked with from the support team was great) I think I am done putting in any more money.  I am not an online player but we do enjoy quite a bit of offline couch play and private matches.  I am excited to see what GW3 will bring.  Cheers!

  • Yeah, I was told to wait too and as I suspected they never showed up. Anytime I buy coins or upgrades they show up almost immediately. This is getting out of hand though and I think most would agree that this issue needs fixing. We noticed an update a few days ago so, we hoped maybe that might fix it. Our youngest was having a hard night because he is very afraid of storms and it was storming where we are and his fave game is pvz gw2. So we purchased the epic coins pack so he might be entertained by opening some sticker packs. Didn't happen. We are very discouraged at this point from even playing the game. We enjoyed playing though. Maybe one day it will be fixed or a 3rd one released. Good luck everyone 🙂

    @fairydust85 It looks like this is still being worked on, we'll keep an eye on things, as you note this is the sort of thing that can turn a good time sour so we want to make sure that each of these cases get resolved.
