I just bough this game and was trying to play it, but it says there are new downloads available, but it won't download and I can play. I am connected to wifi. I am not sure what to do, I keep going...

You said you're able to play though? It wouldn't let you play if you weren't fully updated.
The DLC packs - Garden Variety & Zomboss Down - install automatically. You don't have to download anything manually.
