@EA_Darko Thanks for participating in the conversation! Most of the time when a game loses support and/or sunsets, I move on like most people do. The PvZ shooters are a special case in which I want to see more and miss getting new content and characters in the 3 games. I tend to brainstorm on the side a lot so turned that to some ideas here in an effort to inspire PopCap to make the next shooter the best ever, to show that there are several of us that are still around, and to see what others think. The Reddit is more active than the forums, but lately it's mostly just memes and videos.
I really want to see the series continue as well. I'm more of the mind to return to the GW formula with some of the features of BfN (the more visible HUD indicators, the free roam zones, multiple slots for character builds), but if they can make an improved BfN (more characters, damage attenuation (drop off), better Ops, and other needed improvements like sorely needed character changes), I'll certainly give it a look. Whatever they do for a new game, it needs to handle hackers well, have crossplay for all platforms, and long term support so we can enjoy it for a long time and have a lot of things to do in game.
@Iron_Guard8@EA_DarkoI feel like a sequel to bfn would be literally the worst move they could possibly make honestly. The game flopped in less than a year and a direct sequel to it would probably **** off everyone because bfn fans now know they could've kept updating/fixing the game and that they had the money to do so. Gw fans now have to go through another game they don't want with gameplay and mechanics they don't like.
Bfn already split the community right down the middle on practically every changw it made and many people have left the series due to these decisions to rapidly alter the gameplay from gw, do you think they'll seriously come back for more of what made them leave in the first place?
The series is practically already at deaths door from bfn as popcap Vancouver is gone and popcap and ea help refuse to ever awnser basic questions and when they do respond its in the most corporate how can we help you message?
With how much bfn lost compared to 1 & 2 to do anything else but gw3 (totally fine with the keeping builds, pve expansion, and overheat indicator changes) would be a very severe case of financial suicide from a small company on the level of "dont like it dont buy it" and "don't you guys have phones"? And this all if bfn's failure didn't finish them off the first time.
I'm not trying to sound mean here, but this is my brutally honest opinion.

@stukapooka I largely agree, and would vastly prefer a GW3 over a BfN 2, and worry that many of the fans that really didn't like BfN would see a BfN 2 and not even give it a chance. I do feel however, that BfN did have a lot of good ideas that never were fully realized so didn't want to shut the idea down completely. Regardless of which way they go for the next game, they need to get that GW magic back that made it so fun, still popular even now, and fitting for the franchise.

@Iron_Guard8Good ideas and good execution of those ideas are two different things and I'm gonna be honest with you, not all of those ideas were good to begin with ie sprinting, the reward I from, new sniping system in tight maps (cqc can work in tight maps if and only if the ttk is accounted for those maps by being very high and snipers can kill in one shot and not an easy threat you can just run by such as counter strike), and payload the game mode maps that forces players to group on a single objective for 75% of the game what can go wrong?
I feel like a gw3 that has remastered all the previous maps and added them in to the roster would be a very liked idea if executed well.- Iron_Guard84 years agoLegend
@stukapooka I really want the GW1 and GW2 maps back, (except Time Park), and that includes Garden Center and Aqua Center at the same time. Just tweak them for balance and to make bigger characters fit and we're golden. I play TT the most of the game modes and find the TT maps in BfN are too narrow and not as exciting to play on as the GW1 and GW2 maps, but do like some of the aesthetics of the maps, especially Peachy District (which is very GW1 in style), and Preserve Pastures (the farm setting makes a good backdrop for plants to defend).
I also agree that not all BfN's ideas were good, make no mistake, but it does have some good ones. As I continue to plat and get closer to level cap, it always feels bad to see all the work that must have went into the game, never reach fruition and how so much feels only partially done, and how so many left it early over the issues.
Stuff I do want to see from BfN in a new GW game:
- The new characters with changes and balance tweaks as needed.
- Free roam zones with some improvements (I'm working on that post right now)
- The upgrade system where they have different weights based on how good they are, with appropriate balancing, including outright removal of some as needed.
- The overheat and additional ammo indicators on the HUD.
- The ability to save multiple builds and costumes (although 3 is not enough for me).
- The idea of customizing our slabs and punchers is a minor one, but they also need to implement what I asked for all along; let us customize these for each saved character slot. Having one total slab and a max of 2 punchers make getting them from the capsules, the Rux store, or from the zones feel so unrewarding and a waste of a lot of fun and well made art. I wouldn't mind just going back to the fixed grave with the gloves from GW1 and GW2, but another way to customize how we play is a good thing, minor or not.
- Seeing where the Gnome Bomb will pop up and not being forced to pick it up.
- Battle Arena.
Sprinting, the lack of damage attenuation (drop off with range), the change to snipers, healing, 'tank' characters, the more toxic emotes like the poop one, the narrow TT maps, how they made the losing team in suburbination lose more as only the team with 2 or 3 points gets any score now (as opposed to getting more but the other team at least got something for holding one point), the change to capturing TT objectives, OPs being too short and too simple and no evacuation, the economy, swarm characters, and likely more, are all things I do not like in BfN and do not want to see in a new game.
