Nightcap = Easy Frags

I absolutely love when I face Nightcaps... one to three shots and they’re usually dead (depending on the zombie I’m playing).

Once you know how to kill them, they’re EASY to vanquish with most any character in the game.

STRATEGY:

The second you see a Nightcap sneaking up or at the very start of her Fung Fu, SPRINT away 10-15 yards to avoid the oncoming ability spam and position yourself to counter her next move. This will allow you to dodge the ability spam and expose a vulnerable (75 health and no abilities) opponent.

Most characters have a one or two shot answer for her 75 health and it boils down to not letting her sneak up on you.  If you get caught in the ninja bubble, SPRINT out of it.

To put things into perspective, I played Alpha and most of this week and can only remember 3 Fung Fus killing me, period.

I would say Chomper is the only character with less kills on me than a Nightcap and I’ve faced as many as 4 at one time.

Hope this helps.

  • @spIash_damageI think she needs some adjusting. Yes, they are abled to be handled if you see them coming, but it's the fact that most of the game centers around standing, grouped up, on an objective and there are usually many night caps fielded that can cloak until they are right beside said group to kun fu spam that makes it irritating.

    I dont know. I wouldn't nerf them too hard, but one thing is for sure: their escape is too good for having a mini teleport, a speed boost, and near invisibility on two short charges. I have been able to handle them better once you understand their kit more, though.

    They have to avoid nerfing Night Cap too hard. There's a lot of hate directed at her right now but all characters need to be viable so if they nerf everything that people are unhappy with, she would be worse than Soldier and Corn are right now, and that's not a good place to be. In leaked footage I saw she had 65 health, 75 now. Despite some discussions in GW2 of making Imp have 65 health (remember they had 50 at first and were buffed to 75), 65 is pushing the low end of usability to an extreme. Having a stealthy character with low health is pretty common in games, but don't make it so low that she's useless.

    There's a quite a few things that need adjusting and I replied to Mario Sanchez on Twitter about what I think needs adjustment but after playing several rounds last night there's a few more things that need to be looked at like Super Brainz's ranged punch and a Master level Citron using that Navel Laser for a very long time with the right upgrades. My number one concern right now is buffing the main weapon of soldier, corn, and some others.

  • @Ditronus I don't stand grouped up in BfN nor did I in GW1 or GW2 but I understand the frustration, especially if you prefer capture point modes (like TT).

    @Iron_Guard8 Nerfing the Nightcap could be reducing the primary damage to 11 and if that's not enough, taking it to 9 (damage per shot).  The invisibility should have more of a Chomper's burrow type of cool down, in my opinion.  I also think her invisibility should show a more noticeable animation (kicking up dust), if she's running while invisible (again, much like Chomper's burrow or energy warps, etc).

    People looking to nerf her speed or Fung Fu would render her useless (to most people maining her now) but reducing her primary fire damage and dumbing-down the stealth (I think) would "fix" things where she's more manageable (while remaining fun for those who prefer her).
