@asabaida Don't you just hate that moment when you get vanquished just are you're about to do something? ☹️ There are characters that are much better for the first challenge, such as Imp & Mech due to the Mech's large health and not killing the imp when the Mech is destroyed.
The second challenge is to simply vanquish a boss on your opponent's team; the third one, I haven't got that far yet, but I'll share my tips on all three challenges once I know what it is today! 🤓
@asabaida Win 5 matches
- @asabaida If we are both online at the same time I'm going to cover you. I managed to complete the first task right after you left the lobby.
The second task is missing though. Let's make a deal: I let you open the chest and you let me vanquish that one if we are in different teams. Kids love this mode and it is a kids game after all. 🙂
Of course...I share the same opinion as you. Turf needs to be 12 v 12 and no bosses in BFN.
The Boss Team Vanquish was great though because having bosses seemed to help out with unbalanced teams. It was a pleasant surprise.
- @FootSoldier9908 The Team Vanquish one worked quite well, as you say. Bosses in TT would probably fine if they just spawned in randomly - fighting over opening the chests is the main problem, I think 🤔
@TheSprinter85 Remember that match last night where we weren't even able to leave the spawn area at the start of the game because there were only three of us? Lol that was rough
- @asabaida I found citron to be useful in opening it, but I guess in most cases he is also easily overwhelmed... Maybe having a pocket healer too?
Because of sparse people online at the time, I did not play this mode on it's first go-around. But I did play it today, and here are my thoughts.
I, like most other people, really enjoy the idea of having bosses a part of an online mode, and Turf Takeover is the perfect way to do it. Does anyone remember a certain trailer for the original Garden Warfare where a Gargantuar was seen in a Gardens and Graveyards match? I've always dreamed of fighting alongside these guys in such a mode.
I do think the chest approach however, is a bit flawed. I am in agreement with the presence brought up by numerous others that the boss should go to the side of the team with less players (if applicable) or should more or less lean towards the side with the most advantage in the current moment (however that may be determined.) That way it can help fuel a comeback when all hope seems lost in a match.
But this chest approach allows a team who had a clear advantage, in player numbers or otherwise, to summon an incredibly powerful computer controlled ally to their aid, which often forces the opposing team to shift focus to it. This can change the flow of a match easily, or seal the deal. The chest takes way too long to open, and while I'm not voting for a massive decrease in the opening time, it would be nice to not have to worry about the entire opposing team ganging up on you, especially if you are on your own (Citron can do it effectively, though. At least his shield does not make him as much as a target practice vicitm as a Z-Mech)
Sorry for the rehashing in a lengthy post, but I just wanted to give my thoughts. This mode can and should be fun. I hope Popcap can build upon this and make Boss Turf Takeover into the awesome mode I know it can be.
@ippigthanku for your kind offer 😃
Update: after a number of games I have managed to complete the damn chest thing and kill a boss.... won one game after that (after winning a few before with the other challenges ☹️) so still have 4 to win. Managed to get a chest for my bf too.... but he is away back to Destiny 2 🤨
When I catch you online I will help you get whatever you are needing at that point 😃@CITRONtanker yay for new people to the forum. Welcome, friend! Great first post (unless I've missed others) and thanks for such well-thought input!
