- @spIash_damage Why does people hate this mode so much? I actually like it.
It's going the same way it did last time. You're fighting to beat your own team-mates to the chests as well as the opposition.
No one's playing the objectives.
And the chests seem to be spawning in exactly the same places they did last time, so 75% of the entire lobby is camped out at or racing for those locations.
On top of that, as I was vanquished near a chest, I noticed the player who'd killed me as they were defending the chest, allow one of my team-mates to open it . . . so we've got teaming up to contend with as well.

I'm not sure that people don't like the mode per se.... but the fact its the weekly mode with challenges attached that is the issue not the mode itself, well apart from the TT 8v8 -12v12 controversy. Problem is everybody is trying to do their quests at the same time... and also (because of the challenges) those that don't like the mode are forced into playing it... due to rainbow stars being such a hard to earn commodity 🙂becausebecauseSAVECONTINUEview saved words →Don't translate on double-clickDon't show floating buttonNo Internet ConnectionWe've been here before. I don't even cognitively register them now and stick to my favourite modes. I don't need coins as reward machine empty and amount of stars is laughable.
Fair play to those who enjoy them, just my personal experience. Make it either 😇 fun or (b) worth our while. Or (c) maybe it is fun but players need more incentive to give it a go and find out.
Edit: option a turned into an angel. To be fair it is probably the best one

I gave up after 2 games and agree w/ the concept of I'd rather give money then torment myself w/ this mode. The whole guard the point, push the cart, etc concepts of the maps totally falls apart when large numbers of players are forced to drop everything and go for a chest which you won't get anyways. This feels even worse then the vanquish confirmed one that required us to screw over our teammates by focusing on stealing the orbs from their kills.
So far it seems identical to the last boss chest TT that many of us had concerns about. I'm guessing that the challenges are the same but can't get passed the first one to find out. When someone finds out, please let us know. 8v8 definitely hasn't improved the experience. Hard pass on this mode for enjoyment. I will give it more time because I do want the stars but I'm almost done doing things that I'm really not enjoying for them.
Well even though i hate trying to get the open the chest challenge, at least i got it first match. Unlike last time.
I know for a fact that this event has been released before. The boss chest seems to make a little difference to the overall game - except for the fact that some people get distracted going for the chest!
I know I do - especially because the first challenge requires physically opening the chest. There was a game I played today of this event - I was on plants, I was acorn, me and 3 other acorns were desperately trying to contest the chest. I managed to open the chest the 2nd time, but it meant they was no other plants trying to capture the objective, apart from the weeds.
The bosses can steer the game in either direction (make or help your team win or lose) - but generally bosses don't stick around for long so it doesn't always work that way!
Overall, I'd say this is a good event!🙂
Had a few games... been close to opening a chest 2/3 times but got killed just before circle completion... I'll keep trying but this could be the rainbow stars I forgo due to the frustration I think.
Edit: anybody remember the 2nd and third challenges?
