Phenomenal character pack purchase unlocked an character I already owned

The promotional characters are just temporary... They switch out every week and then the Tennis Star would have become locked again (and would have been replaced with another promotional zombie). Now you own the Tennis Star permanently.

I can imagine it's disappointing to unlock a character that's currently already on showcase but it's certainly not a bug, unless I've misunderstood your post.

Yeah you misunderstood.  I had already recieved the tennis star in the pack before the promotional period.  It was a bug because then I got it again even though I already had been playing it before he was on promotion.  I understand the concept of it being unlocked temporarily but this wasn't the case - i think it bugged since I had already owned it and I was wondering if anyone else had that issue yet as well.

Well, what I can tell you is that, if you already own a character that's on showcase, it's not even supposed to show the promotional symbol in its customization screen. That's why I assumed you only had the character because of the showcase.

So I guess what happened was, when the Tennis Star became a showcase character, it 'overwrote' the fact that you already owned the character.

I haven't owned any of the characters that have been on the showcase so far prior to them being showcased, so I can't really confirm this. But I'm guessing there might be a bug where showcase characters overwrite your owned characters? If so, then that's a really nasty one. I hope someone from Popcap reads this.

Yeah that was my assumption.  Which is why I wanted to write on this forum because I had no idea where else to go.  I mostly noticed it because I was excited the first time I got him and then felt sick when I saw it a second time. I was so confused. I have run into a few minor bugs but this has been the only one I felt worth really reporting.

Thanks for looking into it. I was 99.9% certain I had it before the event because I told my wife how excited I was to get another football guy since I just got used to using him.  I appreciate you looking into it though I still think it happened so keep it in mind if it comes up later down the line.

I bought the deluxe edition, which had TWO character packs. I started the game for the first time, then I checked my in game mail and it said to open my new packs, so I did, and saw my 2 character packs and opened them...AND I HAD THEM BOTH! I unlocked all characters in GW1. Then, after going through all my packs, it said I had mail, then it gave me all my GW 1 characters! So I basically paid for the deluxe edition and got the same characters I had! Please fix this.
