I am now with Giant Giganticus at level 41 but I stuck there and realised that plants are OP. Even if I change my deck to "kill this * as fast as possible" then I see this f**** captain cucumber than...
Zombies are pretty strong too, just not as much as plants.
The fact here is that you can build more "annoying" decks with plants that you can with zombies.
You could, for example, have a deck with nothing but Clique Peas and still win.
You would eventually have plants so insanely big that the opponent would run out of answers and minions.
You can also have, for example, a deck with nothing but strikethrough plants.
You will always do damage to the enemy heroe, no matter what.
You can also also have, for example, a deck filled with beans.
You can do 12 guaranteed face damage with only 4 cards and 4 suns.
Admiral Navy Bean + Admiral Navy Bean (2 damage) + Admiral Navy Bean (4 damage) + 1 cost bean or another Admiral Navy Bean (6 damage)
Zombies mostly rely on one specific zombie to execute a combo.
Team Mascot for Sport decks, Zookeper for Beast Decks, Aerobic Instructor for Dancing Decks, Disco-Naut for Overshoot decks, etc.
Without this key element the power of the deck is reduced drastically. I mean, sure, you can still win by flooding the board with a bunch of 1, 2 or 3 attack zombies, but it will be indeed harder.
That's the difference.
I can assure you my dear friend, that if we executed an analysis on how many times this specific combo (Zombology Teacher + Going Viral) can be succesfully executed and we compare it to all other plant examples, we are going to see a big difference.

So the video shows a crazy combo working in an almost perfect scenario, but it also shows just how much it takes to beat some plant decks. Astro Vera and a pair of force fields... If he doesn't have it that turn, then buddy probably is waiting with another astro vera and a soul patch lol
@patdk75 but that's saying plants don't also need those perfect scenarios. Every combo is OP in the perfect scenario; but the fact of the matter is, they don't come around all that often. You know what happens if I play cpt cuke recklessly against a skilled/prepared/experienced opponent? Rolling Stone... Weed spray... You know why it works out for me more often than not? Because I'm skilled enough to know WHEN to play and WHEN NOT to play my cards, and because of the surprising lack of removal in many decks these days.
@patdk75, I'm afraid but @daalnnii is right. A specific situation is requiered for a card (or cards) to be considered Overpowered.
For example, I love Starch Lord. He is one of my favorite plant cards on this expansion. As @daalnnii said, if you know how and when to play your cards, anything can be broken.
For example: I know I need to be cautious when playing my card, due to the numerous threats out there. (Like a suspicious gravestone on turn 4 that can be a Pogo Rider, a Hearty class zombie heroe saving 3 brains for the trick phase, a Sneaky heroe that can possibly have the Deadly superpower in hand, etc).
If I see that the this situations cannot occur, I know is good for me to go and play my card.
If the Starch Lord survives (which is highly likely) it will conjure a card that I can use to further protect my Starch Lord.
Even better, my Starch Lord can conjure me ANOTHER Starch Lord.
What happens next is, I get a tremendous value advantage.
Hilariously, I don't think many people consider this card "broken" unlike many others, but as shown on the previous pic, it totally has that capability.
Same story for zombies. Most cards also need an specific situation to become OP.
Like a Team Mascot or Aerobics Instructor surviving, or a Synchronized Swimmer copying a big zombie instead of a small one.
Many small zombies surviving to be transformed by the Bad Moon Rising, etc.
Anything can be "broken", if used correctly.
Force Field can be absolutely broken with a Soul Patch, or completely useless if you are protecting a small plant against a strikethrough/overshoot zombie. (Or if it just gets overwritten with another environment).
Going Viral can be absolutely broken like on that video, or completely useless if you have no zombies on the board.
Same thing for ALL the plants and ALL the zombies.
The more experience you have at this game, the more you notice this.
