Not that GW1 or GW2 are perfect, but BfN, despite some improvements, isn't as smooth an experience as the prior GW games.
I'm still enjoying the game and have a lot of time into it already (more than GW1 already but far less than GW2), but it could be better than it is and seeing how some long time fans of the franchise are either quieter, have slowed down playing BfN, or have left altogether, it's obvious that there's a long way to go.
No other multiplayer shooter series has the same feel as the PvZ shooters, not even TF2 which also has a bit of silliness involved can compare to the PvZ IP, so a lot of us want the games to do well and keep playing them for the long term, but BfN needs to improve in very important ways to live up to the first 2 games. We want new modes, characters, maps, community events, and of course Ops phase 3 (and beyond hopefully), but first the core shooting experience has to flow and feel well for everyone; we need Repairville.
This post summarizes my own feelings quite well, especially the part I emphasized. I have been actively looking for a game to replace BfN, but there is nothing else quite like it. I settled on Paladins, and it was a great fit! I did surprisingly well, and enjoy the colorful cast of characters. However, I prefer the characters, maps, humor, and third-person view of PvZ. And, honestly, I am not looking to relearn how to play dozens of characters that others have been playing for years.
But the gameplay was smooth. I m not sure how late-game plays, but the first few matches were effortless to play. I want the same feeling for BfN; we're not quite there.
September will be this game's one-year anniversary. Take the next two and half months and prepare this game for a relaunch. Balance characters, fix glitches, remove lag, and review every system in this game from rainbow stars to damage drop-off. Celebrate the anniversary with some free legendary costumes, a refilled Reward-O-Tron, and a new plant character that's been thoroughly vetted. Call it "Re-landscaped" or "Suburban Renewal".

@kapkarrot I play Paladins as well and have for awhile. I quit at OB64 when it went pay to win but then they fixed that and I've been back for some time now. Honestly Paladins reminds me of BfN in many ways; both are fun games with some great ideas but both have a lot of bugs and other problems! I have 2 videos of Paladins up on my tiny Youtube channel, the majority are BfN videos.
- 5 years ago@Iron_Guard8 I actually also came from paladins.
It was my previous main fps (grover main).
And something is visible regarding their behaviour regarding ob 64
they actually ended up fixing it wich is something popcap should focus on aswell- TheSprinter855 years agoHero
@kapkarrot Totally agree with that!

I uninstalled OW awhile ago now, I'd rather play the PvZ shooters or Paladinss. I used to play TF2 but that's been awhile.
