Plants vs. Zombies won't start to play at all. Why and what can be done?

I recently got Plants vs. Zombies through On the House deal. It downloaded ok; but when it started installing, it quit. So then i reinstalled it again. Went through ok but when pressed play, the game...

I am late to  this, but not starting still a problem. I guess this explains why the game is discounted.on Origin. On Win 10 it seems to be just  broken. Shame on Origin,clearly do  not buy anything else from this company.
