PvZ 1 HD crashing on IOS

I'm on an M1 iPad Pro trying to play Plants vs. Zombies HD. I played it a few years ago and just wanted to play a few rounds, but it crashed on startup right after the loading bar finished. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, hoping that would fix it, but instead it just delayed the crash to after you enter your name.
