I have the original edition of pvz gw2 and i'm pretty far into it and i would like to know if i could get the deluxe edition digital download and keep my saved data. Like overwrite it and still get the packs without having to restart the game.
I don't know what platform you're on, but for consoles at least the answer is yes. I know very little about PC. I buy an upgrade in the PS store and it automatically downloads to my existing game when I log on. Have fun with Z7 and BBB!
I'm fairly certain you will need to restart the app, however. But I think what you meant was start playing the game from the beginning - no, your previous data will all still be there.

I had to get one of the last updates twice because my daughter really wanted party citron. I've heard that it's possible to buy once and apply to sub accounts, but I don't believe it.
you will need to buy twice, if you are using separate accounts, i had a similar incident with My little cousin, on SW (Battlefront 1), i could only play the expansion packs with his account. so yes, you will have to buy twice, sorry for the inconvenience. (and yes I am on PS4 as well, no shortcuts)
