Re: Garden Ops Spilt Screen not working

My case has been escalated and I am waiting to hear back through e-mail only as I have been told by chat and phone support. So far I am extremely disappointed with EA customer support knowledge of their product and will post back here if I get a response.

Got a response minutes after my last post :

"I appreciate you taking the time to get in touch with us for assistance with the issues you are having entering Split Screen matches in Garden Warfare 2. My name is John and I am the Specialist which was assigned to review your case.

During my review of your case I had a look into the issues you have reported and can confirm that this is a known issue which the Plants Vs Zombies Developers are aware of and are actively investigating. Hopefully through their investigations they are able to determine the cause of this issue so it can be fixed. In the mean time we just ask for your patience while investigate the matter."

The issue appears to be related to using a child profile without online access. If you give online access to the child profile you should be able to play.
  • I now believe this issue is connected to a childs EA Origin account. If they are under 13 it doesn't let them play online. I tried to use my childs Xbox GT to play Star wars Battlefront but it does not let me play. I'm playing around with a few options and I'll let you know if I can work around it.

I had the same issue. Had to disable the parental controls on the account completely, and that fixed it.

As a temporary work around - switching the child account with an account that does not have the child restrictions will fix your issue, or turning off the child restrictions on your child account will resolve your issue.

  • The child's account has no restrictions on it from the xbox side but can't figure how to change any origin settings at the moment. Thinking the simplest way is going to be creating a new gamertag.
  • Finally I've sorted it. Even though the Xbox had no restrictions set on the childs gamertag, when I logged into my Microsoft account on my PC and checked the family settings, my childs account had the option to block online multiplayer selected, removed that and now it all works.
