Yes.  It will open a new chamber with the chests and a puzzle for you to solve to finish the whole thing off.  Good job, a few of the gnomes are quite difficult to collect even with a guide.

How many chests are there in the gnome area.

Let's see, it's been a while.  There is the 200 star chest in front of the statue which I will let you learn on your own what it contains.  Then the first chamber that opens will have either two or three chests free to open.  Then when you solve the puzzle there will be an additional chest.  All in all about 600K coins and some other goodies that I'll let you find out on your own.

I had meant to mention that you would need to enter the gnome puzzle room in order to finish the snow globes.

Once you open the first chests, you will need to find the mushroom switch in the chest room in order to access the final room with the puzzle.

Hey @KnowItAllKingFTW, did you get it all done yet?  Happy with your rewards?  I remember that when I was at that point in the game, the coins I got allowed me to pretty much finish off collecting the stickers for all remaining regular variants.
