Hi EA, I've just registered and I want to make to (unofficial) complain about the way you guys or Sony's handle the "free Garden Warfare PSX promotion".
I am an owner of a PS4, I went and downloaded the game when I heard it was free because PSX and I thank you for the nice idea but in my opinion, you didn't go all the way with this promotion. What I mean is, in my personal opinion, you should have spoken with guys at Sony's to remove the mandatoy subscription to PS+ for us to fully enjoy your free product.
If it's free, then make it free all the way, instead of asking me and others like me to buy extra to enjoy this game.
So, shame on you, yes, shame on you , because first of all, you shouldn't have asked PS+ (I know Sony require Plus subscription for multiplayer on PS4 but some multiplayer games on PS4 don't have this requirement and I don't think Sony asks for this) in the first time, for a regular customer who buys the game on PS4. If you are indeed humans with soul, you should talk to sony to remove this obligation for your offline multiplayer game (multiplayer co-op split screen for ex).
This is really outrageous!

Hi Kat, I agree some of it was not made clear such as that one was PS4 only, one was for Vita only etc. However, Garden Warfare has always required PS+/Xbox Live and there is no way to make it not require this currently. I am sorry you havent been able to play it though. Hopefully if you ever get PS+ in the future you will give it a try

I really enjoy your type of corporate attitude serving corporate answers to the kind consumers. This is one of the reasons that made me decide applying for the public sector. Back to the subject (sorry for the offtopic):
You know it's funny, I always thought companies deliver products/services for the people, for their interests, not just thinking only at their personal balance sheet proffits.
You know what I think of all this, about the PS+ requirement? I think it's against consumer rights, no consumer protection here because it's a a case of abbuse (repet, only in my personal opinion, I have this right, right?). Honestly, think about it: I pay for a product (or get it free on promotion) and then I realize myself that I need to spend extra money because that's what others want or maybe that's what you want. Plus, I don't want any more subscriptions since I'm sick of all the subscriptions and fees and good deals, etc. I'm sure PS+ is a good deal but I care less, all I care is to pay for this game (PVZ GardenWarfare) and to fully enjoy this game on PS4.
If something human still resides in you, please put away your corporate attitude and for once, try to think and remove that PS+ requirement.

Im a littel supprised about this, because when you read on the game cover, it reads "Online mulitplayer only: Playstation Plus required". To me that means that only for Online multiplay that Plus is required. This combiend with the back cover stating, that 1-2 players in one field, and in another yellow marked field, it says "Network Players 2-24 playstation plus required". Again, this indicates, that you can play 1-2 players but if you want to play 2-24 you will need plus subscription.
So if EA would have marked the cover clearly with "Game does NOT function without PS plus subscription", then I wouldnt have been sitting here at Christmas with two really disapointed kids and an unpacked unplayable game that I cant return.
How stupid is Sony? You make us pay for a game, not cheap either. Now you can't play online without an additional subscription. This is how you lose customers really fast. I am about to pack up my PS4 that I bought on Friday and return it. If I pay for the game, I should be able to play all features. Without a Subscription. I wonder if XBOX One has the same issue?
I wonder if anyone at Sony actually reads these threads? I think I might just return the PS4 and stick with the PS3 and get an XBOX One.

We will never own a PS again. We had a Wii for years and never had to pay a subscription to use games. What a huge disapointment wow you act like you did not know about ps+, the way your acting is like $10/month is to much to handle. Perhaps you should sell the ps4 and buy a wiiu.. its obvious you have no idea what your doing with this system. Plz go into settings and delete all applications, then bring the PS4 back to factory standards. Sorry but ive never seen someone so up tight about $10 before... wow welfare checks arnt as good as they use to be? Seriously.. whine some more... why not go outside with your kid.. instead of teaching them to be a dead beat like there mom and dad.

Purhased the game as a disc. The markings on the jewel box really tell you that the game works as a standalone game and you only need PS+ account for multiplayer gaming.
I am taking the game back to the store and reporting EA to consumer authorities for misleading marketing.

We bought the disc for our son also for Christmas with a new PS4. It has worked perfectly well for 3 days and now it is insisting we buy PS+ and the game won't play at all! Very upset - we've always owned XBox and heard good things about PS4 - what a bad decision.

Well this is VERY disappointing. I just bought this game as well. We are newbies to PS, so I was unaware that multiplayer meant that you had to have a subscription to play, I was thinking it meant more than one player could play that are sitting beside each other. Will be a lot more careful next time and read all the small print on the box the next time I purchase any games. Not sure Walmart will take it back now that we have opened it.
- I think this I BS. My son was given this game by some one and we'll be returning the game because we don't pay for the PS+ service. The game was paid for, why in the world do we have to keep paying each month to play? Does Sony upgrade the game, our PS4 or anything for paying hundreds of dollars each month? Why do we even pay for the gaming console console to begin with? I'm thinking it is better to sell and never buy from Sony if this is how they are going to do business. It's like paying Everytime you watch a movie you bought, it is wrong on so many levels.
Bought this as a Xmas present for my boy - he has been wanting it for ages. It needed to download a huge update file and then when the game starts it says you must have PlayStation Plus to play it (to do anything!). Game says clearly on packaging that PS Plus is only required for Multiplayer online but he can't even play one player Garden Ops offline.
It says on the back cover 1-2 players and that PS Plus is only required for 2-24 players.
The ONLY option given is to sign up for PS Plus which we cannot afford. He doesn't want me to take this game back to the store for a refund as he really loves this particular game.
This is ridiculous. Surely EA needs to fix this bug or refund customers in full for false advertising. I've got a crying kid who can't even play the game.I bought this game a Best Buy for my kids, and they haven't even been able to play it (split screen co-op or single player) because of a ridiculous requirement to have PS+ account. Outrageous! I will be returning it to get my money back, and will be wary of any other EA games I buy for non-online play enjoyment. I cannot believe this...
