If they had "real matchmaking" and queue times to balance things out... Things might have been more enjoyable and fun for people with different skills. But there is no matchmaking which means you won't always have "competition" going on. It's either too easy or too hard, rarely in-between... Sometimes you're 3v6 and the game does nothing about that since GW1, even though they can try different things... This pattern is becoming boring across all PvP modes. Even in Team Vanquish, you notice the huge score difference. And it's not because hero ABC is OP or anything. The biggest problem is how the devs never talk about the issue or maybe even consider it an issue.
As for me, I always switch to attacking no matter what... I dislike defending... I got sick and tired of getting 2k objective score in most defense games, while my teammates usually get less than 1k. As soon as I die, nobody cares about the objective even though half of the team are around it and closer to it than me during overtime. All the hard work I've done to fight everyone on the objective while contesting goes to the garbage bin because nobody cares about it.
The problem with BFN is... People want to be one of the two factions no matter what.. Some people swear by that and always switch to zombies, for example, to play as Deadbeard or Super Brainz. Of course, they're not wrong; They enjoy those characters they're good at and they want to play as them. This is an asymmetrical game, and it's hard to get the same exact hero on both teams. Also, people have hero quests and challenge now... Forcing players to factions not of their heroes would result in frustrations.
They have to create an entirely new matchmaking and queue systems, and that probably needs a very long time to achieve.
Cheers,
