Provided they did not ajust the rate at which you earned coins through matches currently, I honestly wouldn't mind too much if players were allowed to purchase packs using real money.

However, where my concern lies is more in how this creates an unhealthy precedent for the industry at large.  With games like Forza 5 already including microtransactions I don't want to further encourage developers to utilise this practice, largely because I think it's impossible for them to stay away from tweaking normal earn rates to encourage people to spend real money. Thankfully outrage at Forza's system forced them to change, but it's still not great.

Mass Effect 3 did pretty well with the system, although it still felt like it took a long time to earn crates.

I get where you're coming on this one, but personally my concerns are for the big picture.

Yea, but some FTP games do it well. Warframe has the nice system that you can earn anything in-game, or you can pay for it to get ahead if you want. I agree that they need to watch how the ingame coins are ballanced, which is why i recon a income doubler or somthing that give bonus cards / rewards at the end of matches would be a good way to go.

So because you have a full time job you think the game should cater to you? They call that being self entitled. If you play JUST to unlock stuff but don't enjoy playing then what is the point in playing the game AT ALL!? I never understood that mindset, people that want to unlock everything right away, it takes most of the fun out of the game and gives zero sense of satisfaction for earning your way up to the top. Maybe it's just me but games are supposed to be a challenge. Also requesting a coin boost like mobile aps!? Something that is highly criticised and widely hated and you want to force that garbage on a game i paid for? HELL NO!

Exactly! I bet he is young, there is something about this new generation, not all of them, but i found a LOT more than my generation that LOVES hand holding and instant gratification. It's everywhere now, every genre of gaming has been watered down to appeal to the instant gratification generation. Look at games like EverQuest and then look at World of Warcraft, it's a perfect example of how an entire genre was dumbed down, and made to cater to people who prefer instant gratification and hand holding.

Of course I don’t play just to unlock stuff, but when half the gameplay variants revolve around stuff you have to unlock, I have to unlock stuff to enjoy the game to its fullest. If it was just cosmetics i could grind as a wanted, with the coins being a bonus to playing. However I want to unlock the other variants so Ii can have fun playing them. I’d like to play more team vanquish and gnome bomb, but as the pay-out for it is around 20% of what I’d generally get from a garden and graveyards I can’t help but feel I’m wasting time on it. I enjoy playing the game, I just don’t enjoy being made to grind for the ability to use all the features of the game (especially as it can take me a week to earn 40,000 coins). 

I don’t want to unlock everything right away, however for me the slow pace of unlocks takes most of the fun out of the game and i find that i get zero sense of satisfaction for winning a game, sometimes as MVP of my team, when I get less coins than the lowest ranking person on the enemy team. Maybe it's just be but games are supposed to be fun first. Take your idiotic belief that anyone who doesn’t conform to your petty standards should deserve your verbal bile and perhaps consider the views of others and occasionally actually read a post before filling the reply with your rage covered idiocy.

As a final note of clarification, this is presented as an OPTIONAL purchase, for those who won’t mind paying for content, and who will find the game more enjoyable for it. If you don’t want to pay, if you feel the grind to be more challenging, fine. Don’t pay. Everyone’s happy.

Ruining gaming by putting the choice of weather to pay or not in the hands of the consumer? Wow, i feel like scum for my hope that everyone can enjoy a game equally regardless of their situation.

Firstly, im 26. I'd like to think im young, but not as young as you seem to belive.

This is the entire reason i asked for people to read before raging. People see the word 'micro transactions' and flip out.

Its not about instant gratification. Its about time over money. Do i have alot of time to play games? No. Am i willing to pay for the ability to speed my progression so i can enjoy a game alot more to the same degree that people who have alot of time do? Yes.

TBH i play alot of games in my spare time. Ive got this, Titanfall, over 200 games on steam, and have to devide my attention between them. May of these have time = unlocks mechanics, and i cant play them all. Last week i managed 6 hours on PvZ:GW, and that seemed like alot to me. I unlocked 1 new class varient that week (and thanks to RMG its or a class i dont even like to play).

All im thinking is that they could offer favorable trasaction rates for very small prices, and those funds can be chaneled into the creation of more 'free' content for the comunity. If you want an example of this, look at 'Warframe' on the PC.
