Try playing this week's event when zombie team all go scientist? Ridiculous, not a support char he is a one man killing machine that can heal team mates on the side.
In event they can heal boss aswell as res each other. Makes for a very one sided event and not much fun.
Poor sunflower is just a heal bot, need nerf that scientist back to support class.
Agree 1000% percent. The damage he does is not the damage a support character should be doing. Sunflower isn't close to his damage, but scientist is a weaker healer in my opinion. Kind of weird they gave sunflower a strong dps ability (instead of only heal/get away mechanics like the scientist), but scientist has no dps abilities other than his main weapon. Most people that I run across that play scientist dps and heal secondarily. I think the healers should be healing focused and provide damage as able. I don't want to nerf him in the ground, but his aoe damage is very strong.
Flower and scientist should just look different, maybe different skills, but in healing and over all dps should be the same, would be like overwatch early days if you gave One team Mercy strong heal and weak gun and other teams Mercy opposite.???
I think that scientist is fine honestly, but I will say I don't like scientists healing gun, so I think in evens out in a way
You could argue something similar with sunflower, but in damage in longer ranges. I wouldn't say that scientist needs a damage nerf, but more of a teleport nerf, because of the immense sprinting and the 3 teleports makes scientists zoom around close enough to do maximum damage with their shotgun weapon
I completely agree Scientist is broken.
Would recommend 2 teleports instead of 3 and reduction in damage range (keep it strong at short range so he can defend himself when cornered and contribute to taking objectives). Compensate by increasing range of his healing.
Other than this, feels like balancing is in a good place now
This is exactly what I was thinking, but I do also think that the heal gun should heal a bit faster though personally because you can't attack while it's active and you need to be always looking at the person your trying to heal/over heal just because it could possibly heal more than one person
Unfortunately with characters like this, having lag issues can make him useless. You’re either on top, or at the bottom. There’s no in between.
Scientist is fine where he is in regards to damage. If anything he just needs a longer cool down on warps or a reduction to two.
Sunflower needs aiming fixed and damage increase though. Or maybe rate of fire increase with homing.
