Still not quite understanding butter beacon

I understood the use of corn throwing that huge butter chunk in GW2 but I'm just not quite understanding the intended use of butter beacon..please give me the instances where you would use beacon, and how it is helpful...I'm not criticizing it at all because I don't know how he should be using it..thanks!

  • It’s just to locate players behind walls or obstructions.  Does no damage whatsoever but it is useful.  In tight quarters you can throw it to see who’s around the corner.  If there’s 3 scientist and a super brainz, then you’ll probably want to turn around and run.  If you didn’t throw the beacon, then you just would of run into a world of hurt.

  • @Pinch1Off it is ABSOLUTELY essential in Battle Arena. Tell your team where the Zombies are and, more importantly, where they aren't so you're not hit with an ambush.

Also, Zombies hit by the radar are dealt a momentary damage buff, but I think only from Corn, which quite frankly, he could use, poor fella.
  • @Pinch1Off It's essential to throw it out as often as possible, as it allows your whole team to be aware of all zombies in the area, and also gives corn a damage buff by hitting zombies tagged by it.

“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.” - Sun Tzu. 😇

Showing enemy position can really turn things around, especially in more tactical modes.

  • It's pretty much been answered here, but tac intel is huge in games like this. Throwing it and finding that there's 3 zombies behind a wall that you didn't see is extremely handy since it lights them for your whole team. You also do more damage to those with the beacon effect. I was unsure of it at first but I use it a lot now.

  • @Iron_Guard8It doesn't feel quite as bad now as it did & it does have its uses, but I confess I'm greedy & would love to have the old butter barrage with beacon added to it as an upgrade (or vice versa) 😂

    Edit: typo

I love it when I teammate is using Kernel Corn and using the ability as its so handy for strategy when using lower health characters such as acorn and nightcap.

Also, the bigger picture is that it lights up the enemy for those few seconds you can also guess the next direction the enemy is taking which is great for the whole plants team in general 🙂
