At first I was confused about what they said about this character not adding levels to max rank. It would seem that this is their way of letting players who do not have unicorn to make max rank without him. If you're already 5455, it won't add anything to your rank.
If correct, I think this was a great compromise. I predict it will essentially just be a re-skin of unicorn chomper.
My read of the ways to unlock him matches up with the above post. I wonder how we will unlock him during that week? Rux? Sticker packs? I reckon it's going to cost a very pretty penny.
Lastly, I don't care for this recent trend of having new things in the game available for only a short window of time. If you can't play during that one week and earn enough to unlock the character, then you have to pay with real money. Not a very nice way to arrange things, in my view.

Well, I'm 25% of the way...and community as well (1.5 out of 6 million) and we have 5 days remaining

The twilight chomper has only 1 warp but covers twice of Unicorn chomper warp (2x).
I prefer 2 shorter warp (shorter recharge), instead of 1 long one with longer charge.
Probably they will sell the shorter version as ability from Rux.
