Unable to invite friends - Origin Overlay error

I am unable to invite friends to play a match game in Garden Ops.  I have the invite friends key, but when I hit it I get the message "Please enable Origin In Game.  This feature uses Origin In Game, which is currently disabled.  Please enable Origin In Game from your Origin settings and restart your game."  Now before someone tells me to enable Origin In Game, I have it enabled.  I have gone into Application Settings > Origin In Game > and Enable Origin In Game is checked for All Games.  I have also right clicked on the game and selected game properties to ensure that Disable Origin in Game for this game is not checked....which it isn't.  I am at a loss for what I need to do to get this feature to work in this game.  I bought this to play with my boys and they are able to invite others just fine, but I also don't receive any invites from them.  It is very irritating to say the least.  I tried disabling Windows Firewall thinking this may be part of the problem, but this did not work as well.  This has been going on since day one with this game.  I was hoping that time would solve this, but I can't find anything that solves this problem.

Does the Shift+F1 while the game is open, open OiG?  If it does bring up OiG perhaps try inviting directly through the Friends list.

    If it doesn't come up.

    -----------------------------

Disable any other overlay programs (Fraps, RiviaTuner,  Raptr, etcetc)

    -

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Origin client (this does not remove data in \Origin Games\)

    -

    CleanBoot

    -

    Graphics drivers up to date?

    -

    Run Origin client as Admin

    -

Try changing from Fullscreen to Borderless.... or try flipping the v-sync setting  (found a google result saying this worked for someone)

If you minimize the game while it's running, can you directly invite from the main Origin window's friends list?  Probably not the neatest solution but better than not inviting I guess.

I was able to get a little further with the process.  I have Raptr, Evolve, and AMD Gaming Evolved running usually.  I closed all these programs and was able to get somewhat closer to a solution.  I was able to see a few people.  I am going to disable the firewall (to remove another barrier) and I am going to look at the other computers that I am unable to see.  There is a chance that they are running similar software as above.  Wish me luck!!
