Forum Discussion
Hey, folks
I reached out on this one and spoke to a few people to see if we could get this issue looked into again. As it has been roughly two months since the initial issue was reported, we need to gather the following information from you even if it has been reported on the thread prior.
- EA ID/Steam ID
- Platform: EA App/Steam/Epic:
- Attach the EA App Error Report ID Here - This one is very important!
- Last time you played the game, approximate (dd/mm/yy 00:00 AM/PM UTC):
- Last time you signed into the server you are reporting issues for, approximate (dd/mm/yy 00:00 AM/PM UTC):
- Region EA app is set to:
- Are you using an internal or external drive?
- Are you using an HDD or SSD?
- Current screenshots from the game once you try to log in:
The sooner we have this info the sooner we send it to the right team(s) for review and get updates on it.
The issue reported in this thread is not about logging in to the game, but rather the match-making issue when joining into the multiplayer game. Please understand the current situation that players face. Let me repeat the issue: Most of the time, players cannot connect to the lobby on the server. And when they get the chance to get into a lobby, they are usually placed into separate lobbies and not the same lobby, therefore no game will ever start. Essentially no multiplayer matches were performed during the past several months after the cheater crashed the Asian server.
Important updates: I was in China before June and could rarely get into a lobby in the Asian server, however, I could easily get into lobbies in other servers such as NAE and EU servers. (Shown in the video I linked in my previous reply). Currently, I am in Canada, and I have only tried less than 10 times, however, it appears I was able to get into Asian lobbies every time I tried. However, other players in Asia that tested with me could rarely get into lobbies on the Asian server. Also, the great firewall of mainland China is extremely unlikely to be involved because players from Taiwan and other places in Asia also experienced the same issue. In addition, other servers are readily available to players in mainland China and Chinese players usually use VPN for better game connectivity. Therefore, do not say there is no issue if you are unable to recapitulate the issues using the Northern American internet.
Reminder again: The same issues that happened last year were resolved by EA before (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Plants-vs-Zombies-Games/Old-Report-PvZ-GW2-unable-to-connect-to-Multiplayer-Servers/m-p/12331303/ ). Talk to people that worked on this issue last year!!! I cannot believe an issue that was solved before can be so clueless now. It could just be a simple reboot, reset or some existing script to solve it.
Here is the information requested. Again, most of them are not helpful in elaborating on the current situation.
