For me, it's better to have and not need, than need and not have.
Having walkers is a necessity, especially if you have teammates that don't understand how to stand in an objective in an objective game type.
If you want consumables, buy the 2500 minion pack. Until you get all the 6900+ cosmetics, getting them from higher packs will be difficult. GW1 operated the same way.
Cosmetics before anything else. 20k packs would grant you something like a character piece or upgrade, but the remaining seven pieces were usually hats and maybe one consumable.

As I stated in my thread, we're feeling the pinch because there are now offense and defense consumables for both plants and zombies. In GW1, we only had pot plants and walker zombies. Now we have bots zombies and walker plants. We went from a 50% chance of getting a consumable we can use immediately to 25% chance.
