This is a tough one. I think they should add a tutorial mode before you can enter a game with other people. And as long as you pass the certain requirements of understanding the boss hunt, then you can move on to an online round.
I too get annoyed with people that aren't even trying but part of the issue is things weren't explained well. Through playing and watching videos I have all the hats for all 4 boss hunts but the first time I did Sasquatch and Spooky Squash I know I messed up. I don't mind complex mechanics at all but when they aren't explained well beforehand it creates a lot of issues and bad blood. This alone would help with these issues a great deal.
