- @HailBifrostGlow I haven't bought the game yet, so I was wondering if there are any unnaturally weak characters, like in GW2
I want to preface with the fact that the majority of the classes in this game start off quite weak, it isnt until you start levelling them up they start to feel better to play. For example I found peashooter to be garbage for the first couple hours but once i levelled him up and got some good upgrades, homing shots helped a lot, he started to feel better. Despite this i do feel like there are a couple classes that despite having levelled up quite a bit still feel weak.
For now i would say Rose for the plants is quite weak. She does very little damage at only 8 per thistle, 1 of her abilities, jinx, literally just makes her do 9 damage per thistle instead of 8 🤷🏼♂️ waste of an ability imo. Her goatify can be quite strong if you get zombies on a point or in a choke since it can affect multiple players now, but is fairly easy to avoid otherwise. Her arcane enigma is pretty useless as its just a mobility tool with a speed boost, no damage or anything unlike gw2. All in all she just doesnt seem to have a purpose unlike in Gw2 where she was the teleporter class. She’s like a support character cosplaying as a damage character but failing. If they want her to be a support they need to give her more supporting abilities, if they want her to be a glass cannon kind of character they need to give her more damage. She just feels lost
- @HailBifrostGlow For the zombies i would probably say imp or foot soldier as the weakest. Foot soldier just feels like he’s shooting a water pistol with his damage output. His abilites are still pretty good tho, zpg is still high skill high reward, toxic cloud offers high damage over time area denial plus also blocks line of sight now, rocket jump still offers good mobility and cool zpg trick shots.
Imp just feels incredibly weak, guns feel useless, his grav grenade isnt as good anymore, impkata is just a worse fung fu. His mech has such a long cooldown and is much easier to destroy. When acorn can be calling in oak instantly everytime having a 2 minute cooldown on zmech just seens overkill

Scientist just does so much more damage than her with his shotgun, has insane mobility with his teleports, stronger healing beam since he can heal multiple teammates who stand together while sunflower can only attach to one at a time with hers. Dont get me started on his healing grenade, it can literally make a player invincible when he sticks it to them while SF has her terrible sun bursts that do little healing.

If she's the healing class for Plants, she should rival Scientist and his capabilities. As it stands, she usually gets destroyed by him in 1v1 scenarios.
Her primary fire should be increased 1.5 - 2.5 hp and her healing... just... yuck. Dumb down Scientist healing or fix hers...@spIash_damage👍 im unsure as to whether overheal is a good idea for this game or not. Atm im thinking it needs to go because its making ttk too long. When oaks are running round with 400 health instead of 300 or superbrainz is coming at you with 300 hp because theyve been overhealed it gets a bit ridiculous. Its also one of the reason why it feels like some of the weaker classes are as weak as they are. When foot soldier is having to hit an extra 10 shots to kill someone of course its going to feel bad to play him. So maybe just removing overheal would help alleviate some of the balance issues
Both kernel korn and the foot soldier are completely useless now.
On the plants side, Kernal Corn and Citron are both weak. Citron does no damage, and his charge is unwieldy. The Kernal has no accuracy, and his Shuck Shot is near impossible to land and does little damage if it does. A small step above them is Rose, and then Sunflower. Chomper is bad only if you treat him like Chomper from GW2.
As for zombies, they have far more mid-power characters, whereas plants are split between horrible and broken.
The weakest zombies are Imp and Space Cadet. Space Cadet's space station is weak without any shields. Imp has extremely low power abilities, his mech is his only redeeming feature. Other weak zombies are All-Star and Electric Slide. Soldier is only weak if you rely on his primary fire; his smoke is critical if you want to do well, as it protects you while you get a handle on the situation.
Foot Soldier, Imp, and Kernel Corn are all abysmally weak. All-Star is also pretty weak in terms of damage output IMO, but it's not as bad as these poor three.
