I want to be wrong, I really do, but it seems to me that 1.6 is not going to happen, guys.

It's too early to say to be frank. It seems more likely for 1.6 to not happen if Popcap says so or if they don't make any sort of patch for a long while.

I think 1.6 might actully be a huge update. There was a lot of ideas this past year. And so... They either are having a break or something. Or making 1.6.
