Can't begin VS Mode
I can't figure out how to even get the mode to register that there are two players. I have my keyboard and mouse plugged in, a pair of JoyCons connected by bluetooth, and a PS4 controller plugged in via USB. All three input methods are registered by the game as "Player 1" simultaneously. Furthermore, I can't understnad what button is supposed to be pressed to make the game register an input method as player 2. It shows a generic "play button" icon which is not a real button on either controller. What the **bleep** do I do? My bf was excited to get to try it with me and we can't even get past the "pick sides" menu
Well, I found my solution with more button mashing, with no thanks to EA's help!
Step 1: Open game, with or without additional controllers connected.
Step 2: Open VS. Mode, using the MOUSE (I was already doing this)
Step 3: DISCONNECT ALL ADDITIONAL CONTROLLERS.
Step 4: Use the Mouse to select Player 1's side.
Step 5: RECONNECT your controller of choice.
Step 6: Press THE MENU BUTTON BIND (JoyCon: [+] | PS4: [OPTIONS])
Step 7: The Player 2 controller image should now change appearance to indicate the game has detected there are in fact two players. If this doesn't happen, repeat Steps 1-6
Step 8: ???
Step 9: Profit! You can now play VS. Mode! Just be sure you don't trigger the "Banned plants" glitch with conveniently timed inputs!
