Game Crashes/Freezes on Roof Survival Hard

When trying to complete roof survival hard, my game freezes requiring a restart of the level. When the crash happens restarting the game and continuing from the saved game returns it to the frozen state. This seems to happen whenever I use the corn cob canon.
