Please add some form of online multiplayer to replanted

I'm a long time PvZ fan, I own every version of the original on every console, every version of each of the shooters, all of the side games, and all of the comics. When replanted was announced, I was incredibly excited to see pvz1 released in a modern capacity, as it would be the first time PvZ was released officially since 2013. I've always praised the versus mode on the original console releases as the best aspects of the original PvZ, with its fun and surprisingly deep gameplay. However, it not having any form of online multiplayer was especially confusing back then, as the Ps3 and XBox 360 were the consoles that revolutionized online gaming. But, they are decade old games at this point, and I couldn't expect all too much. When I saw replanted was going to include VS mode, I was ecstatic. But, I just can't wrap my head around why this game, released in 2025, didn't include some form of online mode. It's been a decade since, and I'd purchase this game 5 times over if it meant I could play with my friends online. The steam release doesn't even have remote play enabled, and if you want to play online you have to resort to 3rd party software like parsec. Just giving steam players the option to use remote play would be a godsend for this game, and many hardcore fans would be extremely appreciative of it. It wouldn't be super resource intensive on EA's hardware either, as it doesn't need server side connection, implementing it as peer-to-peer would be more than incredible for the game's lifespan and sales.
