Wall-nut First Aid not always working

Now, this glitch has only ever happened to me in the survival modes and only on pumpkins, but I imagine it also happens on tall-nuts and wall-nuts. Sometimes when I try to place a pumpkin on a damaged one it just doesn't work; I know for a fact that I have the Wall-nut First Aid purchased and that the pumpkin is damaged, but I just can't heal it, and I have to dig up the pumpkin instead. If this gets fixed it would make the game much better as it is one of the few glitches that actually affect gameplay. Thanks for reading.
