🐞 Pogo Error & Icon Guide: What They Mean and How to Fix Them
Not every error message comes from Pogo. In fact, most of the warnings are generated by your browser itself.
Understanding which type of error you’re dealing with is the key to fixing it. Once you know whether the issue is coming from your browser, your device, your network, or the game, troubleshooting becomes far easier and far more effective. Let's categorize them!
Browser Errors: These messages come from your browser - Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, etc. They appear when your browser runs into a problem while loading or running the game. These are not Pogo errors. They’re generated by your browser and need to be fixed on your device.
Pogo Errors: These messages come directly from Pogo. They usually appear in blue boxes (or codes) and show up when the game or site has trouble communicating with your device, saving your progress, or completing an action.
Browser Errors & Messages
Chromium‑Based Browser Errors (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera)
These symptoms almost always mean the browser hit its memory or storage limits, or the device is older and no longer receiving updates:
- "Aw, Snap! Something went wrong while displaying this webpage."
- A sad face or folder icon
- A blank, white or black screen
- A page that closes, crashes, or tries to reload itself
When a device can't free enough space or memory, the browser protects itself by crashing, reloading, or showing error messages.
Steps to try in Google Chrome:
- Update Chrome: Go to Chrome menu ⋮ → Help → About Google Chrome → Install any available updates → Restart Chrome
- Clear Chrome cache and cookies: Go to Chrome menu ⋮ → Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Select Cached images and files and Cookies → Select All time → Clear data
- Disable or remove extensions: Go to Chrome menu ⋮ → Settings → Extensions → Turn off all extensions → Re‑enable them one by one to find the culprit
- Open the page in Incognito mode: If the page works here, an extension is likely causing the crash
- Close unnecessary tabs or apps: Reduce memory usage by closing unused tabs and background programs
- Restart your device: A full reboot clears memory and stuck browser processes
Steps to try in Microsoft Edge:
- Update Edge: Go to Edge menu ⋯ → Help and feedback → About Microsoft Edge → Install any available updates → Restart Edge
- Clear Edge cache and cookies: Go to Edge menu ⋯ → Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data → Choose what to clear → Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files → Select All time → Clear now
- Disable or remove extensions: Go to Edge menu ⋯ → Extensions → Turn off all extensions → Re‑enable them one by one to find the culprit
- Open the page in InPrivate mode: Edge menu ⋯ → New InPrivate window → If the page works here, an extension is likely causing the crash
- Close unnecessary tabs or apps: Reduce memory usage by closing unused tabs and background programs
- Restart your device: A full reboot clears memory and stuck browser processes
When to contact Microsoft or Google support: If the error persists across multiple sites even after these steps, it may be a deeper browser or system‑level issue. Google Support or Microsoft Support can help diagnose it. Pogo cannot fix this error.
WebKit Browser Errors (Safari on Mac, iPhone & iPad)
Safari errors usually mean the browser encountered a crash or issue loading a page, often due to resource‑heavy content, extensions, or outdated software. They can appear in a loop if the problem persists:
- "This webpage was reloaded because a problem occurred."
- "A Problem Repeatedly Occurred"
- Blank white or grey screens
- Tabs that reload over and over
- "This tab encountered a problem"
- A loading spinner that never finishes
- Extensions or content blockers interfering with page loading
Steps to try on Mac:
- Update Safari and macOS: Go to System Settings → General → Software Update → Install latest updates → Restart your Mac
- Clear Safari cache and cookies: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All → Try the page again
- Disable or remove extensions: Safari → Settings → Extensions → Turn off or remove any extensions that might be causing conflicts
- Force quit and restart Safari: Press Option + Command + Esc → Select Safari → Quit → Restart Safari and try the page again
- Close unnecessary tabs: Reduce memory load by closing unused tabs
Steps to try on iPhone & iPad:
- Update Safari and iOS: Settings → General → Software Update → Install any available updates → Restart your device
- Clear Safari history and data: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data → Clear History and Data
- Clear Website Data separately: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → Remove All Website Data
- Turn off Prevent Cross‑Site Tracking: Settings → Safari → Turn OFF Prevent Cross‑Site Tracking
- Turn off Content Blockers: Settings → Safari → Content Blockers → Turn OFF all content blockers
- Check JavaScript is enabled: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Make sure JavaScript is ON
- Restart your device: A full restart clears memory and stuck Safari processes
When to contact Apple Support: If the error persists after these steps, especially with frequent crashes, Apple Support can help diagnose and resolve it. Pogo cannot fix this error.
Pogo Errors
These messages come directly from Pogo. They are different from browser errors because they often appear in Blue Boxes or have numbers.
"Can't Save Progress" What it means: Pogo is having difficulty saving your game data. This is usually caused by corrupted cookies, a browser storage conflict or a session that has been running too long.
Steps to try:
- Log out of Pogo completely
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Close your browser completely
- Restart your browser and log back in
- Make sure third party cookies are not blocked
- Make sure local storage is not blocked in your browser settings
"Connection Lost" What it means: Pogo temporarily lost its connection to your device during gameplay. This usually happens when your internet connection has a brief interruption, even one so small you don’t notice it. A weak Wi‑Fi signal, a momentary network drop, or a router hiccup is enough to trigger this message.
💡Did you know? Just like electricity shifts between power grids, your internet connection can shift between network routes. When your ISP reroutes traffic — even for a split second — it can cause a tiny interruption you never notice. But the game does. These routing changes are normal, and they’re one of the most common reasons for brief “Connection Lost” messages.
Steps to try:
- Log out of Pogo completely
- Check your internet connection
- Restart your router — unplug for a minute and plug back in
- Move closer to your Wi‑Fi router if on a wireless connection
- Turn off VPN if one is running
