Hi there! I completely understand your frustration with the black screens and loading issues. This is definitely not how you want to spend your Pogo time, especially when you're a paid subscriber trying to work on badges and de-stress.
You're not alone in experiencing these problems. Many players are facing similar issues right now due to a "perfect storm" of technology updates that happened in October/November 2025.
Pogo/EA can only recommend users to update their devices and go through troubleshooting steps, but it's ultimately up to each individual user what they choose to do. The reality is that browser-based games like those on Pogo require up-to-date systems to run properly. *Pogo also needs to stay current for security issues.
Windows has been alerting their users for quite a while now about the end of Windows 10 and upgrading to Windows 11 (I too was a previous Windows 10 user, and my device told me it was not capable of handling Windows 11). I had no choice but to buy a new device for overall security and compatibility.
These recent changes highly affect games because of graphics rendering, memory management, and security updates. When you see black screens or endless loading, it's typically because:
- Your device's graphics drivers aren't fully compatible with the new browser versions
- Security restrictions are preventing the game from accessing necessary resources
- Memory allocation has changed, causing games to stall during loading
Here are some things you can try:
- Update your browser to the absolute latest version
- Clear game-specific cache and cookies (remember each Pogo game stores its own data)
- Restart your device completely before playing
- Close all other applications and browser tabs to free up memory
- Try different browsers - if Chrome isn't working, try Edge or Firefox
- Check for graphics driver updates from your device manufacturer
"I going to have to cancel a subscription" & " I also will not renew"
Of course, no one wants to see you go 😥All of these changes of upgrades are out of the hands of Pogo/EA. These technical issues are due to industry-wide changes that affect many sites, not just Pogo.
Remember when the website changed a few years back? This was not done for cosmetic reasons; this was due to another "industry-wide change" Adobe officially ended support for Flash on December 31, 2020, and browsers quickly followed suit by disabling Flash content entirely. Pogo had to make a tough but necessary decision to rebuild games for HTML5 to keep them safe & playable, this took a lot of time and resources.
These computers changes are going to happen for many years to come, due to every changing technology and the current push for AI technology, some call this the "Fourth Industrial Revolution".
Please take a moment to read this article from Microsoft > Windows 10 support has ended on October 14, 2025 - Microsoft Support
Statement from Microsoft:
After October 14, 2025, computers running Windows 10 will still function, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following:
- Technical support of any issue
- Software updates
- Security updates or fixes
While you could continue to use a PC running Windows 10, without continued software and security updates, your PC will be at a greater risk for viruses and malware. After this date, we recommend upgrading to a version of Windows that is still supported. A new device that can run Windows 11 makes for an easy transition and a great experience.
I hope this helps with understanding and please try the troubleshooting steps and if possible, installing the needed updates.
Thank you for taking the time to post this and reaching out, I know this will help other players in a similar situation.
