Challenge Status not Updating after Completion
This has been an ongoing issue that I just learned to work around. If I know that I should have completed a challenge and the periodic 'pop-up' that shows up with Featured Challenges / More Challenges shows that I still have not finished, I ignore that screen. If I want to confirm I will quit the game and go back to the main page and confirm that the challenge is complete.
This seems to happen with daily challenges, because it feels like I am always able to confirm completion without having to go to Challenge Central screen.
To me, it is not a big deal because I KNOW this screen is notoriously unreliable once you have completed a challenge. For others, however, I could see that it would APPEAR that the challenges are not completed, and that the game isn't registering credit towards those challenges.
Since I just had it happen in Tile Hero, I will share my screenshots:
This screen popped up while I was playing Tile Hero - shows status is only 6 / 15.Quit the game and Home Screen DOES show the Bonus Daily Challenge is Complete.Looking back at the screenshots I now take quite frequently to document all of these issues, I can see that I DID get "Bonus Daily Challenge Completed!" Message 12 minutes BEFORE the Featured Challenge screen shot above.

My Observations: The progress towards a Daily (just daily?) challenge progresses correctly UNTIL after the round when you complete all of the required tasks. It is like, instead of REMOVING the badge from your "Featured Challenges", as occurs with other badges, it displays it, but WITHOUT updating the most recent progress, so it looks like you didn't finish. As you continue to play the game, it will stay like this, Every time the Challenge Pop-up shows up, it will show the same partial completion status. However once you return to the Home Screen confirms the Daily Challenge HAS actually been completed.
