Hello and thanks for reaching out again! I understand how annoying progress not saving can be, especially after putting time in effort into moving forward in a game.
So, there are a lot of settings and ways our devices store information — your browser keeps its own data, and even your internet router tracks basic network activity that benefits from occasional refreshing. Think of it like those old carbon copy sheets — white, yellow, pink, and blue — except instead of identical copies, each colored sheet is its own separate record holding a different type of information. Clearing one sheet doesn’t touch the others.
Browsers store website data in several different ways, including cookies, cache, localStorage, and IndexedDB. Here’s the key: game progress is usually stored in the deeper storage areas (like localStorage and IndexedDB), and a standard cookies and cache cleaning doesn’t always remove that data.
When progress isn’t saving, it often means the browser isn’t able to properly save data in those deeper storage areas. That’s why the next step is clearing the site’s data completely, which resets all stored data for Pogo in one go.
Clear Pogo’s site storage (not cookies/cache) This resets the part of Chrome that stores game progress.
- Go back to Pogo.com
- Click the padlock icon next to the website address
- Select Site settings
- Scroll down to Usage
- Click Clear data
- Close the tab and reopen Pogo
✅ This clears deeper storage like localStorage and IndexedDB — other “copies”
Also, while in the padlock menu: allow third-party cookies for Pogo. Pogo games run inside an embedded window, and Chrome sometimes may block saving unless cookies are allowed. If Chrome blocks these, the game can’t properly.
Turn off extensions that block storage Extensions can interfere with the save system. There is a certain section for this troubleshooting step given in this guide → 💻 Pogo Game Loading: Troubleshooting Guide for PC and Laptop Users
Some extensions that can interfere with a save system.
- AdBlock / AdBlock Plus
- uBlock Origin
- Ghostery
- DuckDuckGo Privacy
- Avast/AVG browser add‑ons
Make sure you’re not in Incognito mode. Incognito can create blocks from saving completely.
Always try another browser as a quick test. Our browsers update every 2–4 weeks, and not all updates are released at the same time, they’re rolled out by region, device type, and even specific laptop models. An outdated browser can absolutely cause issues with loading, saving, and even displaying games.
"It's not my internet connection."
It honestly could be at times. So, not only do our devices & browsers update continuously, but internet routers also need updating and cleaning. Nothing with technology stays stable or stationary for long, it's always updating, storing and optimizing.
- Logs/cache: Daily (cleared by manually reboot the router - turning it off for a few minutes every 1-2 weeks)
- ISP updates: Monthly
- Firmware updates: every 3–6 months
We generally do not receive notifications if or when this happens from our internet service providers. I created a guide on this here → A Pogo Player's Network Guide An outdated router can absolutely cause: Games not loading, Games not saving, Pages not displaying correctly, Slow loading or unable to load.
Hope this helps with understanding and one of these troubleshooting checks works out for you! Although the game does automatically save - I always click on the floppy disk near the shovel every time I leave to help ensure it is saving 😊
