Hello! Sorry to hear about Home Story having loading issues for you, not fun at all.
The specific issues you described of "flashing, then turns white & then turns black" is your device's way of talking to you.
🚨This sequence is actually the device's built-in protection mechanism - instead of completely crashing the browser or freezing the device, it's gracefully failing through these stages.
Reason 1 - Outdated graphics driver
Flashing = "I'm trying to initialize the graphics!"
- The GPU is attempting multiple render passes
- Each flash is likely a failed attempt to establish the rendering context
- The device is actively trying but struggling
White Screen = "I cleared the canvas but can't draw anything!"
- The framebuffer is successfully cleared (hence white/blank)
- But the actual game content can't be rendered
- This is the "empty canvas" state
Black Screen = "I give up, shutting down the graphics context"
- The browser/device has terminated the rendering process
- This is the fail-safe state to prevent crashes
- The device is protecting itself from further instability
Reason 2 - Not Enough GPU/RAM Memory
- The game tries to load textures/assets into memory (flashing)
- Memory allocation fails (white = empty buffer)
- System stops the process to prevent crash (black)
The flashing and stages are the key indicators here - that's the device struggling to initialize graphics, which points more toward driver/GPU incompatibility than memory shortage or could be a combination of the two.
When gaming it is important to not only have enough memory to move, but keeping our graphics driver up to date is imperative. Not all Pogo games are created equally; some require a bit more resources than others.
At times graphics drivers can update on their own when our device updates, at other times it is waiting. The best rule of thumb is to check for updates at least monthly through the manufacture, they will have the latest and best updates.
Please try these system checks for your device.
