Ah, ran out of gas. So, on an online browser-based game site like Pogo when a game is not loading, we need to look at a few things. Is Pogo down? Is this game down? As of October 31 2025 the game is running as designed (for some).
According to the Pogo Blog posted on 10/7/2025 there are some players that are not able to access Solitare Home Story, and they are investigating this situation. Fortunately, I am not one of these players and the game is loading and working as designed for me.
So why would some be able to play and others not? = Devices
Browser-based games may fail to load due to outdated software, incompatible settings, or connectivity issues. Most problems stem from browser configuration, hardware acceleration, disabled or outdated components.
If I were to see others playing and I am not able to play, I would immediately look at a few issues:
Outdated browser or system version: Using an old version like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge can prevent games from launching properly. Update your browser and system to ensure you have the latest version and patches.
Special Note: Anyone using Windows 10, will experience difficulties. Microsoft officially asked its users to upgrade to Windows 11 for security and compatibility on their devices. Apple users also had heavy updates in October 2025
Clear your cache and cookies: Corrupted cache or blocked cookies can prevent games from loading correctly.
Slow or unstable connection: Next to checking for graphics driver updates, this is the most overlooked. Games may hang or fail to load if your internet is lagging or drops intermittently.
Other checks:
- Enable JavaScript and hardware acceleration in browser settings.
- Disable extensions temporarily to test compatibility.
- Antivirus blocking. Even for one particular game, our antivirus can block it from loading.
- Low system resources: Insufficient RAM or CPU power can cause games to freeze or fail to start.
- Run a DxDiag for hardware-level diagnostics, it is free and comes equipped on our devices.
- All suggestions are basic system checks that should be performed periodically, rather playing on Pogo or not. Even if your device is new, it does not necessarily mean it is ready (configured).
Please review these steps, and if you are still unable to access the game after completing these checks, monitor the forums, communities, and blog for additional updates.
Hope this helps and if you have any further question or need help, please ask 🙂
