To the SimCity BuildIt Development and Support Team,
This message reports a critical failure in the Service 2.0 Update implementation that has directly and severely damaged my long-term, high-level city (7.2 million population) and is now impacting my role as a Club President.
The Failure and Immediate Consequences:
Grace Period Failed: I was under the impression that the "negative effects" were paused. Upon testing a necessary power plant upgrade this morning, the system immediately triggered a severe power shortage.
Massive Population Loss: My population plummeted from 7.2 million to 6.6 million, a loss of 600,000 residents.
Forced Spending: To halt the crisis and restore functionality, I was forced to immediately spend 500,000 NeoSimoleons to upgrade two Omega Power Plants. This is an unearned, mandatory expenditure of a rare currency.
Permanent Damage: The population loss resulted in five abandoned buildings that now require materials and Simoleons to repair, representing a resource sink caused entirely by your update failure.
Impact on Club/Team Gameplay:
As the President of a Club with 18 active members, this catastrophic failure has critical consequences for team morale and participation:
Diversion of Resources: My essential resources (materials, time, currency) are now entirely diverted to emergency city repair and service upgrades, forcing me to pause contribution to Club Wars and Contest of Mayors (CoM) tasks.
Reduced Motivation: This massive, unearned setback makes it significantly harder to keep my 18 Club members motivated and playing the game. If the Club President is struggling with a forced economic reset, it validates the frustration of all high-level players.
Compromised Club Function: A loss of key players (or a pause on their activity) directly undermines the club's ability to compete in CoM (for Plumbobs/SimCash) and Club Wars (for Platinum Keys/War Currency).
Demand for Compensation and Resolution:
This situation proves that the update is actively penalizing veteran players and damaging the core cooperative experience of the game. I demand immediate and appropriate compensation:
Reimbursement: Full reimbursement of the 500,000 NeoSimoleons spent to fix the crisis created by the update.
Restoration: Provision of the materials required to repair the five abandoned buildings and compensation for the lost tax revenue.
Veteran Relief: A clear solution for veteran cities so that all previously covered services are deemed high-capacity enough for the existing city, preventing further failure until a proper fix is implemented.
I expect a swift response and resolution. The continued support of your dedicated, high-level player base—and the Clubs they lead—depends on it.
