5th Region

I have four of the five regions, missing only the Frosty Fjords region. All of my four regions are fully developed or close to it. My main city, of course, is also fully developed. I am at level 96, and yet I only have 3,526,000 out of 10,000,000. At this rate it will be impossible to ever acquire Frosty Fjords.

Is it possible that the game system glitched? Has anyone else had this problem?

  • Hi, took me 10 years to open all the regions and to open the last region I bought 40 Washington monuments to boost my population to hit the 10 million. I removed buildings that didn’t give a high boost, now I’m on 16.5 million population after only 10 months.

It can be done if you put in buildings that increase your population.

    good luck

If you have room for them. 40 Washington Monuments and 10 years? Sheesh. Thanks for the info.

  • I managed to open the 5th Region within my first 18 months of playing. I had one region that was very population heavy (Cactus Canyon, mostly Omegas), at 3.7m, my others were at 2.8m, 2.0m and 1.5m.

It needs a lot of RZs and good boost buildings (Regional Hot Spots are excellent for this). I borrowed my best buildings from my Capital and bought a lot of extras during Black Friday - my last 1m population was just from swapping things around to get the best population boost, one small area at a time.

Once you make it you don't need to keep it over 10m, you can redesign and focus more on aesthetics.

  • Also, try to use buildings that hold higher population. Like Omega Buildings, Tokyo Town Buildings, Regional Residences, and Epic Buildings. If you are using mainly Old Town Homes, Latin Quarter, Kyoto, Florentine, and Art Nouveau residences, you are going to have a much harder time getting to 10,000,000.

The regional hostpot buildings are also great - they don't take up much space and once they are closer to level 10 for upgrades, they give a nice pop boost and cover a larger area.

Problem is, my Capital City and 3 of my 4 regions are already fully developed. There isn't much room for more. I did create a second Omega region in Limestone cliffs, but I'd have to remove residential building to create anything new. I guess i can make space in Cactus Canyon for population boosters, but that is about it.  I doubt I can even get the population above 5 mill, and I was really looking forward to working with Frosty Fjords.

If you've got lots of residential zones but not a lot of booster buildings then that will limit how much population you can achieve.

You'll need an average of 2.5m per region. If your average RZ population is 5000, you'll need 500 RZs. 10000 average needs 250 RZs, and so on.

With Specialisation buildings your should be able to get up to 15000 per RZ quite easily. That would require 167 RZs.

Take a look at how many RZs you have in each region, what the average population is, and work from there. And you can have some refunds highly concentrated and others much more sparse. 5m in a single region is possible, for example.

I've been playing for years and still have one region to aquire. I think the only way to speed things up is to build an ugly city dense with high-rises. I prefer to have a nice looking city, so I'm in no hurry.

I have on average 155-170 residential zones per region in my regions and my regional population is around 12 million.
